Canon PowerShot SD940 IS

CNET
14 April 2010
  • Summary: One of the best ultracompacts available, the Canon PowerShot SD940 IS nonetheless falls short of greatness in performance and photo quality.
  • Pros: Very small; simple operation; very good photo, HD movie quality; HDMI out.
  • Cons: No optical zoom in Movie mode; mixed performance.

Canon Ixus 120is

GadgetSpeak

  • Summary: Another in the range from Canon of their superb Ixus Digital Cameras . If anything I think this one is even smaller, but, this does not mean the image quality suffers in any way. This unit is an amazing 12.1MP and gives superb images.

Canon IXUS 120 IS digital camera

Pocket Lint
8 December 2009
  • Conclusion: The Canon Digital IXUS 120 IS is very svelte indeed and has a set of controls that are a little fiddly, certainly the small size presents handling issues for those with larger hands. And yet this is a very stylish little camera. The £299 asking price looks quite expensive when compared with some better-specified, similar priced compacts out there.
  • Pros: Slimline styling and build, HD video, image quality at lower sensitivity, 4x optical zoom lens, Face detection AF
  • Cons: Controls are a little fiddly, price, underpowered flash, high ISO image noise, no optical viewfinder, metering, slight pixel fringing

  • Summary: A stylish, super-slim digicam with a 12-megapixel sensor, 4x optical zoom lens and 720p HD movie recording capability.Touted as 'the slimmest ever wide-angle Ixus' and almost credit-card sized, the new Ixus 120 IS comes in four stylish colours (black, blue, brown and silver) and boasts a CCD imager with 12.1 megapixels (effective) and a wide-angle 4x optical zoom lens with optical image stabilisation.
  • Pros: You're looking for a slim, pocketable digicam with a point-and-press ‘intelligent' shooting mode., You'd like a digicam that can record widescreen high-definition video clips., You want effective image stabilisation.
