When I first set eyes on the Canon PowerShot SD940 IS (also known as the IXUS 120 IS), one of Canon's newest Powershot ELPH cameras, I asked myself, "Haven't I seen this before?" In fact, it looks almost identical to the PowerShot SD780 IS , released this past February and reviewed by this website in March. The similarity isn't a bad thing, considering that the SD780 IS was awarded an "Editor's Choice." Read more

Overall this is a great Camera. Gives great results in good light. Very Crisp Picture. I am not able to fix the Red Eye issue. I have tried all options available but I still get Red Eye 1 in every 4-5 Pictures. not a good camera if you want to take pictures of moving subject. Read more
I'm a pro photographer and brought this camera for my wife. I was leaning towards the s90 but she wanted a small camera. I'm really impressed with the image quality from such a small censor. Great small camera for casual use. It has some cons like limited zoom and slightly long shutter lags but these are expected in a cute little camera like this one. Read more
I've been a loyal Canon SD user for many years. Previously had the SD400 (until it got stolen) and SD600 (gave to my brother). Now after having the newer Canon SD940IS for a month, I feel this camera's sleek and compact style packs a lot of punch. The Black color is also stylish and a good change to the default Silver cameras I've had before. The video quality on 720p HD is amazing and the photos are awesome to capture those special moments. I thought I would need a... Read more or see product

The 1280X720 video feature was what made this model my choice. I don't take a lot of videos, but as everyone knows those moments don't come back. You have to take the opportunity when its there. And what better way than to take a nice 10sec or so video. I was in Denmark with a different P.0.S. camera. I watched a band playing old 30's jazz all wearing american ties and took some video of it. The video turned out horrible and the sound was gone completely. But this camera... Read more
