Summary: Comments about Canon Canon PowerShot SD870: Canon did a great job with this camera. I really like the powershot. It’s not too big and not to small so someone with long or large hands can easily work it. I have tested it outdoors and indoors and the pictures look fabulous.
Pros: Easy to Use, Excellent in Low Light, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Battery Life
Summary: we were heading to Hungary and I didn't want to take my new d300 so i went online for some advise. This is a great little camera. If you buy one, play with the manual settings as it takes a little practice, but this camera now replaced my d70 as my go to camera for daily usage. good job.
Summary: I've been taking pictures for close to 30 years now. This is the best camera I have ever owned. The color, clarity, quality of the photo's is great. The only complaint I have is I still have to do touch ups for red eye's even with red eye reduction on but that's not a big deal to me because...
Summary: The LCD is big and nice. Some aspects of the design are more enjoyable than the 800IS. Some are not. It's heavy and pretty big (relative to other canons in this class). It's pretty to look at.
Pros: A friend of mine dropped my Canon SD 800IS in her drink and it never worked the same again. So I had to replace it. Newegg doesn't even sell the 800 anymore so I did some looking around and found that it has been upgraded a few times since then. I know that this is not an actual upgrade from the ...
Cons: The 800IS had easier to access manual settings. Also I think the Image Stabilization in that model worked better. The IS in the 870 doesn't seem to be very useful.
Summary: I bought this to replace our aging, yet still functional SD400, so I've had some experience with Canon's before (as far as the menu set up etc). I'm pleased with the large display as I very rarely used the viewfinder on the previous SD400.
Pros: Big screen, quick functions, fast shots, easy menu, nice quality pictures. Overall: pleased with the purchase and the functionality of the camera. Relatively good price point for the package.
Cons: Some lag when taking successive photo's. Doesn't have the features of a DSLR - but then again, it's not in the same league.
Summary: Overall, good camera and would recommend to anyone who is looking for an awesome compact camera Only one thing or flaw on one of the feature is, that is if I have to point out, the touch sensitive 'wheel'.
Pros: Let me start off with the lens first. 28mm focal length is great. To beginners: what this means is that whenever you have trouble taking a picture of a group of people because some of the people had been 'cut off' from the picture. Then wide angle 28mm will capture that 'cut off' person By just h...
Cons: For me, the reason why I gave 4 star was little problem with my LCD For instance, when I am trying to take a picture of my chandelier (with lights on) LCD has a blue line along the y-axis of the lights. However, when picture is taken, it doesn't have that line. Also, LCD screen is more 'fuzzier' ...
Wonderful little camera. More than what I have expected

Summary: The SD870IS is an excellent little camera. It is small enough to be carried anywhere all the time. Yet the picture quality is excellent ,especially at low ISO setting. The 28mm equivalent focal length is very useful in tight space and scenery.
