Review Summary

The Canon PowerShot SD750 is the new ELPH model released by Canon in 2007. Known as just a good camera, the Canon PowerShot SD750 features a 3.0-inch “PureColor” Multi-level LCD display, 10 scene modes, a 7-megapixels of resolution, a 3x optical zoom lens, and a VGA sized movie mode and also not to forget Canon’s new Face Detection AF/AE/FE technology. Pictures shot with the Canon PowerShot SD750 are simply appealing to many photographers with its deep clarity, sharpness and clear colors. Many of the Canon fans appreciate the fact that the Canon PowerShot SD750 is nicely designed with an excellent high-ISO photo quality and above-average movie quality. Along with that, it’s relatively fast and its face detection system is simply amazing. A certain feature named the ‘color accent’ is the favorite feature of many of its users as it simply takes excellent pictures. They also like its fast usage system which allows the quickest way to take a shot and it takes no more than 2 seconds simply turn on the flash if ever needed. A CNET reviewer had this to say about the camera, “It lacks the image stabilization of the SD800 IS and the tiny appeal of the SD1000, but the Canon PowerShot SD750 has a more elegant, cutting-edge design, large LCD and—to my eyes, at least—better photo quality.” While some users don’t like a few features with the Canon PowerShot SD750, firstly, the photos tend to have purple fringing and secondly, there’s no optical viewfinder. Some commented that the menu and the tool bars are not the easiest to navigate and the buttons too can be confusing. Despite that, on the whole, the Canon PowerShot SD750 is known to be a great product and that includes the ease of using it. It helps a lot when the pictures taken with it looks great.

The Canon PowerShot SD750 almost qualifies as a flat screen TV with its 0.77-inch width and enormous 3-inch LCD screen. The features are otherwise fairly basic: 7.1 megapixels, a 3x optical zoom lens, and automatic exposure modes that make the SD750 very easy to use. Read more

The Canon PowerShot SD750 Digital ELPH is one of the prettiest cameras I've had the pleasure to review. And it was indeed a pleasure. The Canon SD750's fast startup and shutdown times never got in the way, and the responsive shutter made me forget all about shutter lag. I even had some fun shooting with the Canon SD750's Digital Macro mode, and more fun shooting a tank of fish using Aquarium Scene mode. I did miss a longer zoom than the Canon SD750's 3x optical lens... Read more

I made a great choice in selecting the PowerShot SD750 as my next digital camera. I was looking for a digital camera that was small and lightweight. As a novice photographer I don’t like to mess around with ISO, aperture settings, and shutter speed variations; this camera was just right for me. Read more

Best point and shoot I've ever used, whether your a pro with no time to whip out the big SLR or a child carrying it in their pocket, this is for you. Easy to use, high resolution, great shots. only sub-par thing is the poor night shot taking. Best non-SLR you will ever use. Read more

Paid over $300 for this camera for my daughter. A year later, as soon as the warrant expired, camera that had very limited use started taking purple photos. 9 out of 10 photos are purple. Called Canon... rep advised to send it in for repair $110. What a lemon! I own a Kodak V705 which is getting constant use - no problems at all. I am not buying another Canon. Read more

This camera took great pictures for a P&S, and the compact size was great for portability. Unfortunately I experienced the same "lens error" as many others. Normally one would simply send it back to the manufacturer and they would cover the cost of defect, but Canon has not decided to do so - meaning you'll spend more than the camera is worth to get it fixed. The lens error is a well-known and well-documented problem with these cameras and a number of other Canons that... Read more

I love my IXUS 750 camera. It is a perfect digital camera for holidays. Small enough in size to carry even in your pocket, good picture quality and a really quick response time. One of the most reliable compact point and shoot cameras with a low price. Read more
