Great for starter camera for a child. Takes vid and pics. Not great indoor
3 December 2012
Summary: Bought this for my 6 yr old son. He had a kidizoom and couldn't take clear pics, even outside. This camera he takes clear pics outside. Indoor are not great, but he is pleased that you can tell who people are, even if it's a little fuzzy. I had this camera for myself and wasn't a fan of the picture quality, but for him, I think it's great. Don't drop it on the lens or it will jam and then it can only be repaired by Canon for a high cost.
Summary: With all the praise this screen and this camera have gotten, I'd like to point out something that has been missing from any review I've seen. While the screen is larger than it's 2.5" counterparts, the pixel count is not (173,000 pixels for both). Since the pixel density is even worse than my old 2" screen camera, I cannot tell if my pictures are in focus in my camera!
Summary: A great camera that lasted me well. I needed a smaller camera from my DSLR for nights out and didn't want to compromise on image quality without breaking the bank. The canon IXUS 65 fit the bill perfectly and has been a great addition to evening parties.
Excerpt: This camera is an absoloute joy to use. I love the extra large viewfinder screen, which, in the \"view photos\" mode is sensitive to the angle at which it is held. The camera settings are easy to navigate, with both easy to use manual adjustments, allowing you to change the exposure, light settings, colour settings and the way in which the camera is focused and pre -set options for night settings, for talking pictures of kids and pets, for portrait photos and for general...
Pros: large screen, easy to use, angle sensitive screen
Cons: quite heavy, large screen leads to high risk of breakage
Excerpt: I work in a marketing department; we employ photographers with all manner of fancy high end cameras. We bought this camera to replace our previous departmental camera for use when we our staff photographers are too busy or for events when we want a few snaps but they don't need to be of professional quality. This camera was bought to replace a Fuji Finepix E550 which let us down at a recent event (it might have been dropped!).
Pros: Slim, excellent pictures, rapid start up, plenty of features
Excerpt: Its a very nice Camera. I have bought it for 170 pounds.Picture quality as said by canon is amazing by this camera. It has 3X optical zoom and 4 x digital zoom. Total of 12X zoom you get with this. When you take a photo with a white background the picture quality comes better than the whittish background. Really nice qualities of picture. Red eye reduction is nearly good. But they have a software provided to remove the red eyes which is also easy to use.
Pros: Nice Sleek Camera, Great Pictures, 3 in LCD Screen, easy features
Excerpt: My sister purchased this camera from a photograph shop in Belfast. So far i am impressed with the quality of the photographs which have been taken, but there are a couple of things i must warn about before you buy this. The menus are not simple to navagate through, and changing the settings of the photos, i.e. size and quality is also hard to find. But in saying that, every new toy takes a while to get used to!
Summary: This camera is beautiful and takes superb pictures in daylight but is diablical at night or poor light.Red Eye is horrific and focus is poor in indoor artificial light.I took 50 phopographs at a party and 40 had terrible red eye which cannot be dealt with with Photoshop etc.I spoke to Canon an d they said the subject should not look at the lens.Difficult at a party.if you are going to take shots in daylight it's great. If you need to use it in poor light conditions think...
Excerpt: It's a great little device with plenty of features that I would highly recommend. This really is a wonderful piece of kit that should go well with many accessories because it really looks good. However, always think carefully as to whether you actually really need something before you buy it. We buy so many things nowadays that we don't really need.
