Couldn't be happier with it

Matthew M., Newegg
7 March 2007
  • Summary: I bought a third party rechargable battery to have a spare for around twenty here on newegg, but it literally takes about 500 pictures with the flash before the charge dies. Still worth having a spare though.
  • Pros: So I bought my SD550 along with a canon S3 so I'd have something small I could take anywhere. The 7mp sensor is great, unlike a lot of camera companies who stuff megapixels into a sensor that can't handle it and you end up with about 5 usable megapixels anyway. The color is very accurate, and lin...
  • Cons: The finish is scratching after just a few months and I have no idea what it's getting scratched on (only thing that it comes in contact with is its own wrist strap and my hands).

Good camera

Aphagus W., Newegg
22 February 2007
  • Summary: I have decided that Canon is the only way to go ! Dont have to tweak the camera for pure point and shoot and the color balance is simply amazing! I recommend it to anyone and will buy another one in the future.
  • Pros: Very good camera. Never had a Canon before but have had minolta, kodak, and casio and i have to say best so far!
  • Cons: Don't forget to put on the strap or you will break it!

The most reliable camera I ever owned

A consumer in debt "CES", Amazon
7 February 2007
  • Summary: I purchased this camera for my wife 2 years ago, and it has been in very heavy use since. It is always in her purse, has been with us on many trips and has always performed flawlessly.

Great camera for the price and features

M. G. Pollock, Amazon
22 November 2006
  • Summary: We bought this to replace our Canon PowerShot G2, which basically became useless after the LCD died one day. This is everything the G2 wasn't. It is small but sturdy, has a quick auto focus, takes excellent photos quickly, and is so much easier to use.

Great little camera

Steven Rinck, Amazon
25 September 2006
  • Summary: The majority of the other reviews have hit it spot on. This camera is easy to use and takes a great picture under almost every condition. It's fast, and light and very portable. There some drawbacks though. The fact that the camera doesn't come with any sort of case is a crime.

Couldn't be happier...

Amazon Junkie, Amazon
25 August 2006
  • Summary: If you're looking for a "can't miss" purchase for point-and-shoot digital photography, this is pretty much it. Picture quality, even with flash, is spot on. Ease of use is great as long as you don't get mired down in all of the extra features it has.

No Problems

Anonymous, Newegg
24 August 2006
  • Summary: I've had no problem with indoor shots, but you must use scene mode properly. Read the manual(s) and you shouldn't be disappointed!
  • Pros: Small size that fits into any pocket, top-notch pic quality for any camera near this price and fast data-recording and starting-up times are the greatest advantages.
  • Cons: One battery probably isn't enough for most users; the TINY 32MB card that comes with the camera is all but worthless.

User Review

Anonymous, Newegg
16 August 2006
  • Summary: I wish that Canon could have written software for a separate audio format with longer than one min.recording capabilities.
  • Pros: This camera is solid in every way. Small and built like a rock. I bought this model because of the viewfinder window plus the LCD screen for framing. I have shot lots of pics under a variety of conditions and can not find any major faults. Great color, sharp and video too! The videos are really a...
  • Cons: ISO 400 is a little noisy. Could use ISO 800 also. Maybe next year.

Right for my needs.

Richard Gordon, Amazon
11 August 2006
  • Summary: I've reluctantly joined the digital world for still shots, but I'm thoroughly pleased with my purchase. I've just begun to explore its possibilities, but so far it seems user friendly. The price, convenience and service have been excellent.
