Excerpt: I was looking for a small digital camera to carry in my bag. I have had several Canon cameras through the years and their image quality is great. I have another Canon IS3 which is more the size of a 35mm camera but is not as portable, therefore I never seemed to have a camera handy. This Elph model fits the need perfectly. I'm very happy with my purchase! The pictures I've taken with this camera are almost as good as ones I've taken with my much more expensive IS3 model.
Excerpt: The IXUS 300 HS from Canon is one the nicer digital cameras in the mid-range price segment right now. It features an advanced back-illuminated CMOS 10-megapixel sensor chip and good optics, resulting in an above-average picture quality. The camera especially shines in low-light environments. With a bit of manual adjustment vivid and clear indoor photography at low light levels are possible even without the use of the integrated flash or other additional illumination.
Summary: Our pocket camera was an S90 (which I probably will keep), but for my wife, all the buttons and the pop-up flash where most people in social situations would hold the camera was confusing and wouldn't allow her to just take a picture. This camera takes great pictures that look on par with the S90 at the normal viewing sizes for us. It's smaller, easier to use, and has a better auto mode. It has other pluses like being faster and having HD video.
Pros: Easy To Use, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Nice Body Color, Small / Compact
Summary: I got this because I wanted smaller, easier-to-carry alternative to my DSLR that I could bring with me out and about every day. I had two key requirements: 1. Low light competency (for family trips to museums, indoor kids events, etc.) 2. HD video (again, to capture the kids) I have used the camera every day for the past two weeks, including a week's vacation in the mountains.
Pros: Fun slo-mo video feature, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great HD Video, Nice Body Color
Summary: I've had this camera for over a month now and am continually amazed at the picture quality. Colors are vibrant and exposures are very consistent. I bought the camera primarily for indoor use at dance competitions so I could give it to friends to take pictures (most of them cannot deal with looking through an actual viewfinder on a Nikon D90!).
Pros: Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great color, GREAT PICTURE QUALITY, Nice Body Color, Short Lag Time
