Summary: I bought this camera because I needed a basic point and shoot. This camera isn't anything too special but for the price it takes good pictures and served it's purpose. If I was looking for another point and shoot I'd probably buy another Canon. It's been almost 2 years now and still works just fine.
Summary: This is the second elph I purchased, and both crap, shortly after buying the lens would stop retracting periodically, till finally stopped all together, same thing with my other elph sd450, I called Canon and guess what just out of warranty, then I researched a little on the web and low and behold seems tons of folks are having the same issue with these elph camera's, so now I am stuck with 2 dead camera's, I would recommend to stay clear of all this series of camera's,...
Summary: I am a teacher and wanted to have a camera at school to capture the special moments. I had to purchase a new camera when one of my kids dropped this camera on the floor and I decided to stay with the same camera because I never had any problems with it and it takes good pictures. Less than 30 days after I purchased this camera another kid, who,had no permission to even have the camera in his hands, dropped and broke the camera.
Summary: It's a good mid-range digital point and shoot though it has a lot of issues shooting in low light. The image stabilization feature is a joke though - my iphone definitely takes better pictures in a lot of situations.

Summary: I purchased this for my mother and one for my younger sister and they both love it. I did have an issue when purchasing a camera for someone else: will it survive drops and random acts of negligence? This camera did just that. It only has survived the most brutal acts towards technology and I pity these little troopers. My mother has dropped this item in water and off of a small ledge during a camping trip.
