Summary: This version of the Elph series purports to be better than prior versions but all of the added bells and whistles (that add to the cost) create visual noise in the photos (a grainy appearance) particularly when shots are taken in low light.
Summary: I bought this camera because I needed a basic point and shoot. This camera isn't anything too special but for the price it takes good pictures and served it's purpose. If I was looking for another point and shoot I'd probably buy another Canon. It's been almost 2 years now and still works just fine.
Summary: This is the second elph I purchased, and both crap, shortly after buying the lens would stop retracting periodically, till finally stopped all together, same thing with my other elph sd450, I called Canon and guess what just out of warranty, then I researched a little on the web and low and behold...
Summary: I am a teacher and wanted to have a camera at school to capture the special moments. I had to purchase a new camera when one of my kids dropped this camera on the floor and I decided to stay with the same camera because I never had any problems with it and it takes good pictures.
Summary: It's a good mid-range digital point and shoot though it has a lot of issues shooting in low light. The image stabilization feature is a joke though - my iphone definitely takes better pictures in a lot of situations.
