Canon IXUS 105 and 130 Double Digital Camera Review

Buy-n-Shoot.com
28 September 2012
  • Conclusion: If you want greater creative control over your images, consistent results in image quality and aren’t looking to break the budget, then the 105 or 130 possibly aren’t for you. That’s not to say however that they aren’t well-made cameras that the right buyers won’t absolutely love.

Canon IXUS 105 Review

What Digital Camera
26 November 2010
  • Summary: The wideangle lens of the Canon IXUS 105 is a bonus at this price and performance-wise there's little fault, but the small LCD screen and lack of HD functionality are a little disappointing, and elsewhere there's nothing particularly new or groundbreaking. At such a reasonable asking price this is perhaps only to be expected, and so the Canon IXUS 105 may just be the answer for those who simply want an inexpensive point-and-shoot with all the basics in place.
  • Pros: Small, stylish, reasonable image quality
  • Cons: Occasional highlight loss, no HD recording

Expert Review

Dc Resource
27 June 2010
  • Excerpt: For many years now, the trend on this website has been to review the more expensive, cutting-edge cameras. Not only do those cameras capture my interest -- they are what the majority of DCRP readers are curious about, as well. Recently, I was reminded by a reader that I wasn't giving enough attention to entry-level cameras.

Canon IXUS 105 / PowerShot SD1300 IS

Camera Labs
1 May 2010
  • Summary: The Canon IXUS 105 / PowerShot SD1300 IS is a 12.1 Megapixel compact with a 4x zoom lens and a 2.7in screen. Successor to the best-selling IXUS 95 / SD1200 IS, it adds 2 Megapixels of resolution and, most usefully, a wider zoom to its predecessor's specification. The optical viewfinder may now be gone, but the upside is room for a slightly larger screen.
  • Pros: 4x zoom with wide angle coverage., Effective optical image stabilization., Very good image quality., SDXC card compatible.
  • Cons: Slow continuous shooting., No optical zoom while filming., Optical viewfinder now gone.

Canon IXUS 105

Cameras
8 August 2014
  • Excerpt: The Canon IXUS 105 is a typical pocket camera. Compared to other similar digital cameras it is tough to beat. Picture quality is top class for a camera of this small size and I was very impressed with this camera in general. In terms of features it has 12 megapixels and a 4x wide angle lens. It feels like it is well made and is priced at a small premium to many other brands. The IXUS 105 handles well. There are no real problems when it comes to ease of use.
  • Pros: Picture quality - style - build quality
  • Cons: Shutter delay with flash
