Excerpt: An extra added bonus, it shoots in RAW! That means if it were too dark even for the s90 to capture properly, it’s possible to “fix” the images in Photoshop. They just introduced the s100 at $529 [MSRP] last year. It does offer a few new features like HD movie capability. But I’m only interested in still photos. And one review comparing the s100 to the s90 has the s90 as still better in low-light conditions.
Summary: This is a great little camera. I just returned from a cruise to New England and Canada and I carried this camera in my pocket most of the time. It works great in Auto, but you are able to get better results, often, by making your own settings. Inside a couple of Basilicas I was able to get great pictures with out a flash. Great little camera. With my DSLR around my neck and this one in my pocket I'm ready.
Summary: My second of the same camera( due to operator, not camera). I wanted a high quality good point and shoot to fit in my pocket. The best you can buy without going to the bulky DSLR. I recognize my laziness. If I will not carry the camera with me, I can not get the picture!
Lots of features and excellent picture quality for a great price

Excerpt: I recently got married and wanted to buy the best compact digital camera I could afford -- we needed one for the honeymoon, knew we'd be adopting a puppy when we got back, and also wanted one that would take great photos when we start having children in a couple of years. After spending hours scouring the Internet for both professional and 'end user' reviews, I chose the Canon s90.
The Canon S90 is a tiny version of my huge professional camera.

Excerpt: I love using the Canon S90 digital camera. I am accustomed to lugging around a huge camera with all its accessory lenses, while carrying my older Canon SD550 to supplement my pictures with video, panoramics, and other cool features. The Canon S90 is quite portable because it is lightweight, but the quality of its pictures is comparable to those taken with a larger professional camera, so I can use it by itself. The flash is in an awkward spot, but you just have to get...
Excerpt: The Canon - Powershot S90 Digital Camera is only average at best. Even though it may have great image quality that has the pictures just pop out at you, an extremely easy to use interface that a baby could operate, and packed with tons of features..wait. Nevermind this camera is amazing! Along with these amazing features it also has a fast f/2 lense, full manual control, and is very resonably priced for all! The only downsides to this camera are minor however.
Outstanding Point and Shoot with Manual controls to play with

Excerpt: The Canon S90 was a camera I had my eye on for sometime before I made the decision to purchase. I wanted a small camera I could take around with me all the time that took great looking photos. I also wanted something that could help me learn how to handle a DSLR should I get more into photography. I found the S90 to be a perfect camera for my needs. The camera is very small and fits in my pocket easily.
Excerpt: I have not buy a pocket point and shoot camera for a while, my previous one was a Canon s230 point and shoot from 2003. Most of the time I shoot with my DSLR, the current one I have is a Nikon D80. Canon s90 definitely performed well to shoot as a compliment for my Nikon DSLR, I know the theory and the logic behind photography, so I really don't need the fancy functions such as double LCD (front and back like some of the Samsungs) or some other fancy stuff.
Excerpt: The Canon S90 is a great compact camera. It is small but has a nice solid, hefty feel. One possible problem could be it is smooth with not much to grip so you could drop it if you are not careful (so use the hand strap). An after market grip is available which matches the camera and can improve your grip considerably. It has a larger sensor than most cameras its size so it can gather more light and gets more good shots in dimmer light.
Excerpt: I got this camera about a year ago. I was looking for a camera that was more than a point and shot but not all the way up there with the DSLRs. I got just what I was looking for! This camera takes great pictures in low-light settings the quality is great! I also love the look of the camera. However one thing that I do not love about the camera is its size. However, it is still small enough to fit in my purse and its not too heavy.
