Summary: Not the fastest printer,Not the quietest printer but one of the cheapest and most reliable printers I have ever owned. $4 used at the thrift store about 2 years ago now.My wife has been using it alot since she went back to school, mostly for text.I have never bought a cartridge since the day I got it.It has been refilled at least 20 times for probably less than fifty cents worth of ink per refill and still prints great.
Summary: I will make this brief: I am in the whole computer support, systems engineer, build-it-myself computer world. I have found the Canon S series of printers o be the best. I owned the S 330 and I bought the S 300 for my brother after the prior printer (Epson) he had wouldn't work half the time.
Summary: I bought this printer as a refurb. I got it for considerably less than the listed price. That was three years ago. This printer has been totally reliable. The printing quality for photos is excellent and installing the printer on XP Home was easy and trouble-free. The ink can be found for a reasonable price. I highly recommend this printer! **Update** This printer quit working recently after 4 years of use.It was used heavily the past 2 years.
Summary: I've owned this printer for 3 yrs, I been through 7 printers within the past 5, and nothing can top this one. It is a budget printer, but the Quality it provides is good if your a student or a free lance printer. IF your into photography don't go with this printer. HOWEVER, this printer is a MONEY SAVER!!! the black ink I buy from target is only $6.40 and the color runs for about $17.
Summary: AWESOME printer for its size (and price)!! Easy to install, easy cartridge change. Color is great, bright and clear. B&W crisp, hi-contrast, not 'fuzzy' like some small printers. Highly recommend for home/school use.
Summary: The Consumer's Reports review detailed how sparing with ink the S300 is. That same rating gave this printer high marks for print quality, both photo and text. I have run off probably 1000 pages so far, mostly MS Publisher, text and photo combined. I say the ratings are true. Don't worry about the noises some people report. Sure, it does click and clack when hybernating and waking up, but you'll quickly get used to it.
Summary: This was the first Canon printer I've owned and am kicking myself for not buying Canons earlier. The S300 is very reliable and unlike most other printers, after purchase it continues to be economical. Unlike most Lexmark and Epson printers (which I'm most familiar with), the S300 uses ink cartridges that are independent of the printer heads, cutting their cost by nearly 75%.
Summary: I got this printer in January while at college. This printer is very convenient and practical for basic reasons. It is quite cheap--I bought mine at just under $100, really easy to set up--I did it myself without confusion, and it prints quickly and nicely. My needs were straight forward and pretty elementary I suppose, and this printer is great at meeting my critera. Canon's print cartridges, both for black ink and multicolor ink, are incredibly price friendly.
