Summary: I've only had the SX40HS for 1 day , but in comparing the photo's from the SX30is I own to the SX40hs the quality of the photo's are much sharper with true to life colors, the biggest improvement I see is in low light.
Excerpt: The only thing I can complain about are the lack of a bulb setting and a "weak" strobe light, everything else seems great! Having used an S2 IS for a week prior, one upgrade I really appreciate is the S3's showing a large picture of the mode you select, then it shrinks and moves it up to the corner...
Conclusion: Its a nice camera but its a bit much. It was easy to use and understand everything. It has auto flash with red-eye reduction which is nice to have. It was dropped a time or two and only got a few scratches but still worked.
Summary: I love this camera. I did lots of research and decided based on price, features & weight of camera. I do lots of point and shoot and this camera takes great pictures for an amateur such as me! I haven't used the more advanced features but I am pleased with my purchase!
Summary: I've had this camera for about a year now. I was a point and shoot user who grew tired of trying to anticpate pictures because the shutter was slow and inconsistent on my little Kodak EasyShare.
Summary: We bought this camera before going to the mountains for a long weekend. The trees were changing colors and everything was beautiful. This camera took the best pictures of any camera I have ever owned. I would highly recommend this camera for everyone.
Summary: My only suggestion would be an immediate upgrade for the memory card to a 1 or 2 GB. More capacity for pictures and video without the hassle of constant downloading and deleting to make room. Enjoy...
