Good money paid, good images do not make up for lens error issues.
5 January 2014
Summary: Like the camera, hate that I have just been hit by a lens error message for the second time. First time was while on vacation in Europe. Fixed by Canon, but it did not help with documenting my vacation. Just recently the error message reappeared.
Summary: I love the flexibility of this "semi-professional" camera. Night shots are great as is quality. Beware that early models have a defect that in high heat and/or humidity, a piece breaks and you can't close the lens. Canon fixes this defect free of charge.
Great quality photos. 1 large problem with video gives it a thumbs down.

Summary: Picture quality is relly good. Only problem is the camera has a flickering video issue which is well documented. It was supposedly fixed with a firmware update however my camera already came with the firware update and still has the problem.
Summary: Just one week after I received this camera while on a vacation, it already died of the dreaded 'Lens Error'. I was using this camera normally in an indoor environment, with no sudden temperature change nor any physical shock, and all of a sudden when I tried to power it up again the lens would not...
Improve over S95 in low light and video but also have more issues
21 April 2012
Summary: I had S95 and did some comparison. I wish I can said is a lot better, but reality is 2 steps forward and 1 step backward. 2 step forward are the new cmos sensor and digi 5 help the camera achieve very good low light indoor image and video is capable of 1080p with auto focus and can zoom however is...
Excerpt: I own the S95 and love it. I bought this camera thinking it would be good to have the latest and greatest version, even if the improvements are minor. But when I got the camera, I see that Canon changed the battery size once again, for no apparent reason.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast/accurate auto-focus, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Large Clear LCD, Nice Body Color, Short Lag Time, Small / Compact
Excerpt: Overall, I love the size and image quality of the images. Problems: When using the video mode there is a faint vertical line that appears on the screen. This line is about two thirds on the right of the screen. Upon playback of the recorded images this vertical line also appears on the playback.
Summary: This review is for people who owns a S90 or S95 and is thinking about upgrading to a S100. I owned a S90 since it first debuted and have been very happy with it. Monday I went to a local camera store and compared S95 vs S100 back to back including image quality on ISO 80 at 28mm & here is my...
