Summary: Great quality if your in the process of going Pro, have not printed that many photos yet, but were it counts is in the quality..not the quantity...let me get to the refilling the cartridges part and we will see.. :) Overall an excellent printer...I used to be an HP guy all the way..but now I have a new respect for canon printers.
Summary: Haven't had a chance to use it had to send back twice because had bad print head the first one I sent back the second one they made me take to vitec it's been a big problem .they found the same problem with that one as well I spend a 1000 dollars and this is what I get
Summary: My PIXMA PRO 9500 MKII and my PIXMA PRO 9000 were damaged from a recent move and I was forced to buy new. After research I discovered the PIXMA PRO-1. The 9500 and the 9000 printers were the best Canon had to offer on INKJET printers that would print to 13x19 back in 2009 when I purchased them. I have just printed over 200 pictures and the color management from the PRO-1 is spot on every time.
Summary: There isn't much to say to about this printer that hasn't already been said. But let me reiterate what most other people have said. This printer produces utterly magnificent pieces of art. Twenty years ago a printer of this quality would be unattainable outside of a few studios. Be prepared when you order this printer. You need to have space mapped out for it. Chances are, it will not fit on your desk, and will probably need a desk of it's own.
Summary: This is a printer meant for professionals and commercial printing (that may last for years), so the initial cost as well as running cost isn't meant to be judged by consumer standards. In fact it isn't unreasonable, given the superior exhibition-quality that rivals the best photo quality printers such as Epson R3000, with features to match. The printer is very large and quite heavy, but probably not unexpected for a 13x19 printer.
Amazing quality, but make sure you have enough space for this thing!

Summary: First of all, this thing is a behemoth. When I unpacked it, I realized I didn't have enough desk space for it even if I took the old printer, the computer and the monitor off the desk. Right now, it's sitting on the floor (which the instructions say is a Bad Thing) until I get around to buying a new stand to set it on. Unpacking and setting it up in the first place took a while, but most of the time is spent waiting for the printer.

Summary: I was not much of a photographer until I received the Canon Pixma Pro 1 printer. My three earlier printers were all HP printers that generated decent color photo prints, and the HP Photosmart Premium especially (which I still have) is pretty good. With the Canon printer I decided to take a short course in photography and printing and I've just spent two weeks in that pursuit.
Professional quality, but goes through lots of ink

Summary: This printer is for professionals. If you've ever wondered why prints are so expensive, this is why. They are magnificent quality, but a set of refill cartridges will be incredibly expensive. It sucks down about 25% of the ink just setting up, and there are 12 cartridges you have to track. It's supposed to be really good for black and white prints because it has multiple black tanks.
Summary: Canon went all out with this 61# printer! It's big - the ink tanks are bigger - the cost is higher - the upkeep for ink cartridges is a bit pricey, BUT the quality of the photographs is AMAZING - GORGEOUS - MAGNIFICENT!!!! Absolute gallery quality! If you are in the market for a printer of this caliber you probably are a professional and/or an 'amateur' who spends a LOT of time enjoying the profession of photography.
