Buy it if you are a B + W photographer

tasha, Amazon
24 March 2015
  • Summary: I purchased this printer from a local camera shop (Canon authorized reseller). I really wanted to purchase the pro-10, but the reseller was fresh out and I only had the option to purchase the pro-1 because I really needed a professional printer to help me take my photography to the next level.

++ Magnificent photo quality but at a cost in speed ++

Stann, Amazon
9 March 2015
  • Summary: The Canon Pixma PRO-1 is large, slow, and expensive for an A3+ photo printer, but it delivers where it counts: in producing magnificent, gallery-quality prints. Pros: + Magnificent photo quality. + Especially good for monochrome photos. + Above-par graphics and text.

Pricey, but worth it.

Ben, Amazon
23 January 2015
  • Summary: Pricey, but well worth it. It does take some time to load the ink and print, but the multiple shades of gray make this the best B&W printer I've come across.

Expensive, huge, and slow, but it creates amazing prints

Shane O. Laake "camera nerd", Amazon
4 September 2014
  • Summary: In a nutshell this printer is huge and slow, but it creates amazing prints. Oh, it's neither cheap to buy or fed with ink either. All in all that's par for the course, but nuances are what may (or may not) make this the printer for you. It's huge.

Great printer

Corey Lee, Amazon
21 July 2013
  • Summary: This printer produces great images, the only drawback is that it prints very slow and it hakes up a huge amount of foot space.

Large Printer that Provides Professional Quality Prints

Lonnie E. Holder "The Review's the Thing", Amazon
27 June 2013
  • Summary: I have owned many printers since the first I purchased more than a decade and a half ago. I think my favorite printers have been the Epson printers with Durabrite ink, which make lovely photographs, though the photographs can eat a lot of ink.

Going Pro Ain't Cheap

Rich Stoehr "Idle Rich", Amazon
26 June 2013
  • Summary: The Canon Pixma Pro-1 is an impressive piece of gear in many respects - it gives you beautiful photo-quality prints, it's physically massive, and it will set you back a fair chunk of change for both the printer and ink replacements.

Beautiful photos, a bit clunky

HardyBoy64 "RLC", Amazon
24 June 2013
  • Summary: Without question, this printer produces some beautiful photo reproductions. The installation is not overly difficult, but I was disappointed that if you wish to connect to a router for wireless delivery to your printer, the cord is NOT included with the printer.

The Word is Huge

Busy Mom, Amazon
21 June 2013
  • Summary: The word is huge. My first impression when I saw the box was, "That is a BIG box." I had hoped it was mostly packaging. It wasn't. It is a large, heavy, solid printer that is organized well in its packaging.
