Large Printer that Provides Professional Quality Prints

Summary: I have owned many printers since the first I purchased more than a decade and a half ago. I think my favorite printers have been the Epson printers with Durabrite ink, which make lovely photographs, though the photographs can eat a lot of ink. I wondered how this printer would compare with the Epson printers I have owned. On the plus side, the quality of printed photographs is totally amazing. Indeed, this printer has far more capability than I will likely ever use.
Summary: The Canon Pixma Pro-1 is an impressive piece of gear in many respects - it gives you beautiful photo-quality prints, it's physically massive, and it will set you back a fair chunk of change for both the printer and ink replacements. The Pixma Pro-1 is a true professional-quality printer, and not meant for everyday printing needs. When printing on photo paper (glossy or matte finish) the prints come out with sharp colors, deep blacks, and clear gradients.
Summary: Without question, this printer produces some beautiful photo reproductions. The installation is not overly difficult, but I was disappointed that if you wish to connect to a router for wireless delivery to your printer, the cord is NOT included with the printer. Given the price of the printer, this seems a bit strange to me.
Summary: The word is huge. My first impression when I saw the box was, "That is a BIG box." I had hoped it was mostly packaging. It wasn't. It is a large, heavy, solid printer that is organized well in its packaging. I have never bought any other product where the instructions are so well-organized, clear and have results that are exactly as described when I loaded the software into my laptop, which runs Window 8.
Summary: The Canon PIXMA PRO-1 printer produces AMAZING quality photo prints. At least as good, sometimes better, than any of the places I've taken flash drives to get digital pictures printed. But that excellent quality comes at some costs. Let me step through: The first warning is that the Fed-Ex box has a "HEAVY" sticker on it - Yup, the PRO-1 weighs about 70 pounds, and it's awkward size makes it difficult for one person to manage.
Only for a professional photographer or a die-hard

Summary: Images and appelations can be decieving. In the age when everything from cat food to cars has "Professional" slapped on it to justify a higher price and the appearance of a higher quality product. However, this Canon printer has muscle and teeth to back up its title of "Professional" printer. This is a serious device, and not something you can try to plug and play on a computer.
Summary: There isn't much more I can say about this printer that hasn't already been said by other reviewers. This printer does indeed produce photo quality prints up to 13x9 in. The color is gorgeous and I love the depth of the black & grays. It's an easy set up. I will concur with another reviewer that the only draw back is how quickly the ink is used while NOT in use (otherwise this would have gotten a 5 star rating) But if you are looking for a amateur to professional quality...
Everything about this printer is big: Size, price, and quality

Summary: So I'll start with my biggest complaint with this printer. By biggest, I literally mean my complaint is this printer's size. It's huge! When it arrived at my house, the box was so big and heavy, I thought I was being sent TWO printers. My office has an old Epson, which also prints 13 x 19", and the Canon Pixma Pro-1 easily dwarfs it in both size and weight.
