Summary: I purchased this printer from a local camera shop (Canon authorized reseller). I really wanted to purchase the pro-10, but the reseller was fresh out and I only had the option to purchase the pro-1 because I really needed a professional printer to help me take my photography to the next level.

Summary: The Canon Pixma PRO-1 is large, slow, and expensive for an A3+ photo printer, but it delivers where it counts: in producing magnificent, gallery-quality prints. Pros: + Magnificent photo quality. + Especially good for monochrome photos. + Above-par graphics and text.
Expensive, huge, and slow, but it creates amazing prints

Summary: In a nutshell this printer is huge and slow, but it creates amazing prints. Oh, it's neither cheap to buy or fed with ink either. All in all that's par for the course, but nuances are what may (or may not) make this the printer for you. It's huge.

Large Printer that Provides Professional Quality Prints

Summary: I have owned many printers since the first I purchased more than a decade and a half ago. I think my favorite printers have been the Epson printers with Durabrite ink, which make lovely photographs, though the photographs can eat a lot of ink.
Summary: The Canon Pixma Pro-1 is an impressive piece of gear in many respects - it gives you beautiful photo-quality prints, it's physically massive, and it will set you back a fair chunk of change for both the printer and ink replacements.
Summary: Without question, this printer produces some beautiful photo reproductions. The installation is not overly difficult, but I was disappointed that if you wish to connect to a router for wireless delivery to your printer, the cord is NOT included with the printer.
Summary: The word is huge. My first impression when I saw the box was, "That is a BIG box." I had hoped it was mostly packaging. It wasn't. It is a large, heavy, solid printer that is organized well in its packaging.
