Digital Camera Review
29 February 2012
  • Summary: Announced at CES 2012 as the new flagship of Canon’s Powershot lineup, the G1 X was “scheduled” to be available in February, but that timeframe has now slipped a bit. For folks anxiously awaiting its arrival, the first week of March now looks like the best possible scenario.
  • Pros: Excellent images, video, Very good at high ISO, Manual controls
  • Cons: Costs as much as a DSLR, Slow AF acquisition, Only 77% VF coverage

Canon PowerShot G1 X Review

What Digital Camera
18 February 2012
  • Summary: The £699 launch price has set many tongues wagging. It’s an awful lot of money and some £100 more than a 600D with 18-55mm kit lens at the time of writing. The Canon G1 X’s sensor is the star of the show.
  • Pros: Superb image quality and shallow depth of field possibilities, excellent sharpness, impressive high ISO performance, Raw capture, vari-angle LCD
  • Cons: Poor close-focus, off-set parallax and limited field of view optical viewfinder, significant price, so-so battery life, autofocus system less capable than some competitors

Canon PowerShot G1X

GadgetSpeak
12 October 2012
  • Excerpt: This is a PowerShot but looking at it quickly you may consider it is DSLR unit as it is larger than the recent PowerShot offerings not in the battery area as it has a solid battery but all round as it is a chunky looking item.

Canon PowerShot G1 X review

Amateur Photographer
25 February 2012
  • Summary: While it is still unknown whether Canon will enter the compact system camera market, for now the PowerShot G1 X fills this gap in the company's range. The large sensor performs extremely well, and it is enough to rival many CSCs.

Canon PowerShot G1 X

PhotographyBLOG
14 February 2012
  • Summary: The Canon Powershot G1 X is a very difficult camera to pigeon-hole. Compared to other premium compact cameras, it's much bigger and heavier but has a much larger image sensor that delivers better images with more depth of field.

Canon Powershot G1 X

netzwelt
19 May 2012
  • Cons: geringe Akkulaufzeit, langsamer Autofokus, Videoeigenschaften

PowerShot G1 X

Das Digitalkamera-Magazin
16 April 2012
