Canon PowerShot G1 X review

What Digital Camera
8 May 2012
  • Summary: The Canon G1 X's sensor is the star of the show. The images this camera can produce are exceptional, easily of a DSLR quality - and it's not often that's said. But in use there are issues. The hefty price tag ought to bring a better, more advanced autofocus system, plus the close-focus distance of the lens can be limiting. The viewfinder, too, is no better than that found in the PowerShot G12 .

Canon PowerShot G1 X review

Amateur Photographer
  • Summary: While it is still unknown whether Canon will enter the compact system camera market, for now the PowerShot G1 X fills this gap in the company's range. The large sensor performs extremely well, and it is enough to rival many CSCs. With a 28-112mm equivalent range, the 4x zoom lens should fulfil the demands of most DSLR photographers looking for the convenience of a smaller camera, but without the additional cost of purchasing a new system.

PowerShot G1 X

Das Digitalkamera-Magazin
16 April 2012
