A good option if you don't want to carry a DSLR camera

  • Excerpt: The main reasons to buy this camera were because of the great features it had for the price and its size which is smaller than a regular DSLR camera. It's easy to use and great. Great value for the price.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast/accurate auto-focus, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD, Small / Compact

  • Excerpt: Impressed with low light capabilities. Very clear and true color with photos so far. Easy to use if you've had other Canon products. Got as a walk around camera to not have to lug around my SLR.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast/accurate auto-focus, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Short Lag Time

  • Excerpt: I use this camera when I am going for long hikes, where taking my canon slr gets to be too heavy.I also use it when on the river kayaking where I can get a small case to keep it waterproof, where doing that with an slr isnt really an option.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Small / Compact
  • Cons: Raw Does Not Work In Auto

  • Excerpt: I bought the PowerShot G16, so that I could have a "no excuses" camera to take shooting -- even on days when my back didn't like the idea of carrying my heavy DSLR. My first day out, I walked and walked, and shot and shot. No back strain. Easy to use.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast/accurate auto-focus, Good Image Quality
  • Cons: Limited Zoom

So far so good!

  • Excerpt: I purchased the G16 to replace a Nikon point and shoot that took an unexpected dip in a Kansas farm pond. The G16 is a bit larger than my Nikon P&S cameras but will fit in my pocket. I purchased the G16 mainly for it's strong macro capabilities and have not been disappointed.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light
  • Cons: No cons at this time

Canon G16

  • Excerpt: Love the new user interface that mimics Canons DSLRs for shooting in Manual Mode. Also has built in Neutral Density Filter function that I can't wait to try. Same rugged design as earlier G series cameras (owned G11 for years and loved it). Slightly slimmer than the G11.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast/accurate auto-focus, Good Image Quality, Good in Low Light, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD, Small / Compact
