Summary: The Canon PowerShot G12's images and features are excellent for a point-and-shoot camera, but at its size and price, you can get far better. Pros: + Very good image quality for a compact camera. + Optical viewfinder. + Manual controls. + Articulating LCD. Cons: - Bulky.
Summary: I've been very happy with Canon Powershot cameras over the years -- I've had one model or another since 2003. When my trusty older model finally became outdated, I was eager to try out the G12 since it gets good review and is one the few models left with a Variangle LCD screen, which is...
Summary: I know no one likes to hear a less-than-stellar review, but I have to be honest about this camera. It's a good camera, and as long as there is plenty of light, it takes dSLR quality photos. However, it seems anything over ISO 400 is objectionably noisy.
Summary: Because of the build quality and the sluggish controls, I’m left just a bit disappointed. If I could return it, I probably would. I would probably be satisfied had I only paid $400 for this camera. Despite this, I will still enjoy the nice images that can be produced using this camera.
Pros: The good… The camera produces very nice images that I have no doubt will allow printing up to 12”x18” at near the quality of my D300. The images at ISO 100 and 200 are very clean, and ISO 400 is completely usable. The lens has a little bit of distortion (mainly at the wide end), but it is very sh...
Cons: The bad… My main gripe has to do with the build quality and the price. The build quality is definitely nice, but it doesn’t feel as nice as what a $500 compact should provide. It really should have an all metal body in this price range (only the front plate is metal). Also, some of the dials feel...
Excerpt: My previous camera was a lovely little Nikon Coolpix but I think I got sand in the lens as it had a lens malfunction and as yet we have not taken it to be fixed. My husband has a work camera that he has sole use of and has at home so before Christmas he gave it to me to use until we get around to...

Summary: This is the first Canon product I have bought for more than ten years. (I've spent thousands on Nikon and Epson in the meantime). Canon upset me with their unfriendliness, lack of after sales service and by insisting on charging me just to ask a question on the phone.
