Summary: I had a digital Pentax ,pretty much alike , it was stolen and I moved to Canon every function works great I have it for some years and am very happy ,don't miss my Nikons HP,f2a,f2as,..... Excelent ,CANON !!!!
Excerpt: I had a G1 and I loved it. It lasted forever and (especially for the time) took fantastic pictures. I had a G3 and I loved it. Features were improved upon and no negative changes were introduced. Then the Canon G series took a turn for the worse and dropped the flip-out screen and added a bunch of bells (no whistles). But with the G11 I felt like they were back on track and am thrilled with my camera.
Excerpt: I have previously purchased digital cameras in the past, though I had the best luck with Sony cameras, it still was not what I was looking for. What I was looking for, specifically, was to be able to take clear crisp photos indoors, under low lighting conditions without having to hold the camera impossibly still and wait for the shot. I have had that problem with every other camera I have owned.
Excerpt: I bought this for my wife earlier this year. Wow, this camera has a lot of settings. I am no camera guru, so I usually keep the settings at auto when taking photos, and the pictures still come out amazing. She, on the other hand, experiments with the shutter speed, lighting, etc., and has taken some really nice photos. She takes a lot of landscape photos, photos around the house, and photos of her cooking.
Excerpt: I bought this camera for my travel to Japan this year. I didn't have to worry about quality image because I have been a Canon customer since 2004 (the year I got my first digital camera). Well, the camera itself is fantastic! This camera has 10 megapixels, 2.8" screen (wide-angle screen rotation is awesome). Optic zoom 5x (not the best) but you know what it's definitely what makes this camera to ROCK? RAW pictures.
Excerpt: Okay it isnt a DSLR, but for 90% of the people that never used cameras, this will make your pictures look awesome. I carry one in my camera bag for when I cannot lug my giant 1ds II around. Its not exactly the most stylish, but for me, its performance, price ($350), and size. One added benefit is that it looks ugly enough that most people will think that it is an older camera. Buy this, or the g12.
Pros: Use it alongside my Nikon D5000 - handy on days when I don't want to carry weight. Always shoot RAW except when I shoot wide angle which is jpeg only. Found photo quality to be very good and I've owned many P &S cameras over the years. Lens distortion
Cons: Video is not very clever but then I didn't buy this camera for its video.
Summary: After long time I came across a camera that takes perfect pictures. At the full zoom including digital zoon X 11.8 the pictures are crystal clear. Just good can it be? I recommend anyone who is willing to buy a camera look for Canon PowerShot G11 10.0 Megapixel Digital Camera. Pay $200 more but buy a good camera to snap in your memories.
