Excerpt: I've owned the G11 for quite a while, and even though it's one of the most flexible point and shoots on the market, I honestly think that there are better options. First of all, the sensor that's in the G11 is the exact same size as the S90, but the S90 is smaller and has a faster lens to boot. The only features that should sway you from purchasing a G11 over an S90 is if you must have a swivel-LCD and an exposure compensation button on-body.

Excerpt: Best Birthday Present I love this camera! I am not the most technical person and this has been such an easy camera to use and to get awesome pictures. I have used this camera to take "school pictures" for my youngest . We had them enlarged into 8x10's and they really looked great. No one could tell the difference. The Canon G11 has many cool features. I love that I can change the effects ( black and white, sepia, etc.
Excerpt: I have always preferred Canon cameras and had an old G6 which still works great but doesn't have the best stabilization and picture quality was starting to diminish. So I upgraded to the G11 and have had no problems with it. The macro mode is great if you are trying to take a close up picture and stabilization is much better on this model. The only thing I don't like about this camera is I wish it had different preset modes.
Excerpt: I have previously purchased digital cameras in the past, though I had the best luck with Sony cameras, it still was not what I was looking for. What I was looking for, specifically, was to be able to take clear crisp photos indoors, under low lighting conditions without having to hold the camera impossibly still and wait for the shot. I have had that problem with every other camera I have owned.
Excerpt: I bought this for my wife earlier this year. Wow, this camera has a lot of settings. I am no camera guru, so I usually keep the settings at auto when taking photos, and the pictures still come out amazing. She, on the other hand, experiments with the shutter speed, lighting, etc., and has taken some really nice photos. She takes a lot of landscape photos, photos around the house, and photos of her cooking. Pictures of food she has taken comes out much clearer than...
Excerpt: I bought this camera for my travel to Japan this year. I didn't have to worry about quality image because I have been a Canon customer since 2004 (the year I got my first digital camera). Well, the camera itself is fantastic! This camera has 10 megapixels, 2.8" screen (wide-angle screen rotation is awesome). Optic zoom 5x (not the best) but you know what it's definitely what makes this camera to ROCK? RAW pictures.
Excerpt: Okay it isnt a DSLR, but for 90% of the people that never used cameras, this will make your pictures look awesome. I carry one in my camera bag for when I cannot lug my giant 1ds II around. Its not exactly the most stylish, but for me, its performance, price ($350), and size. One added benefit is that it looks ugly enough that most people will think that it is an older camera. Buy this, or the g12.
Excerpt: I had a G1 and I loved it. It lasted forever and (especially for the time) took fantastic pictures. I had a G3 and I loved it. Features were improved upon and no negative changes were introduced. Then the Canon G series took a turn for the worse and dropped the flip-out screen and added a bunch of bells (no whistles). But with the G11 I felt like they were back on track and am thrilled with my camera.

Excerpt: Here are some fabulous facts about the Canon G11. The weight, shape and size of this camera feels just right in my hands. The LCD screen is bright, large and maneuverable. It flips around so you can easily take self portraits or rotate it all the way around so you can close it while snapping shots with the viewfinder. I love that i don't have to smudge the LCD screen all the day long. It shoots movies. I was told by the guy who sold it to me that, all the pros are...
Summary: nearing 10,000 photos shot with my G11. Still love it though upgrading to Sony Nex-5. Very feature rich. Fits in large pocket which is a must for me. Only 5X zoom. Battery life is excellent. Not sure why i ever got a spare batt. Wish the sensor was bigger, but then don't we all. Well made and durable. flipping the screen saved it from scratches. 4 stars is my conservative rating.
