  • Conclusion: If you’re a pro who needs a second camera or just a gadget-head who demands the best, this camera is for you. No, not you with hefty credit card bill, but you with slightly more dosh than you know what to do with.
  • Pros: Canon’s semi-pro G-series gets its first wide angle (28mm) camera with optical image stabilisation, and it’s a beauty. Hewn from black metal, the G10 is both war-zone-tough and catwalk-friendly, thanks to a crystal-clear lens, face tracking and (naturally) RAW format shooting. The 5x zoom is optically stabilised for blur-free shots. A new i-contrast feature grabs details from shadows, while the 14.7-megapixel sensor rolls out a red carpet of realistic colours and pixe...
  • Cons: Now that SLRs have Live View, movie modes and lower price tags, there’s less of a reason to stick with compacts, even ones as well built as the G10. Burst shooting is also sluggish at about 0.7 frames per second, so it’s not ideal for sports photography.

  • Conclusion: Canon PowerShot G10 digital camera The Canon PowerShot G10 is a sibling of a long range of quality cameras. Or at least that is the overall conclusion from the test. In fact, the PowerShot G camera's concept is enough for awhile although new functions are added to every new generation so as to justify the introduction of a new generation.

  • Conclusion: We really liked the Canon PowerShot G10, but it’s only for a sliver of shutterbugs out there—especially with a price tag of $450 in the real world. Yes, it takes very fine images at low ISOs with good light. The wide-angle option is also a real plus, and the superb 3-inch LCD screen is great for framing your shots and reviewing them. The camera has a ton of adjustments to keep you inner gadget geek enthralled for a long time as well.
  • Pros: Versatile wide-angle zoom; terrific shots in good lighting; great feel and ergonomics
  • Cons: Expensive; relatively slow; video should be higher quality; noise above ISO 400

Canon Powershot G10 review

  • Excerpt: Canon’s top non-DSLR, the rugged, manly G10 sports 14.7 megapixels, a 5x optical zoom and extensive manual controls.
  • Pros: Canon has an almost unrivalled pedigree when it comes to digital photography, and that’s reflected in the fantastically sharp results you can achieve with the G10. Serious snappers will appreciate the wealth of manual shooting controls on offer, not to mention the ability to capture photos in an uncompressed RAW format (essentially a digital negative) for more flexibility in post-processing. The 5x optical zoom delivers a good range too, while the chunky metal body si...
  • Cons: If you’re looking for a pocket-sized camera this certainly isn’t it: the bulky body is a bit of a curse as well as a blessing. We also spotted some noise at higher ISO settings, as well as purple fringing next to high-contrast edges, such as tree branches against a bright sky.

Canon PowerShot G10 Review

LetsGoDigital
24 January 2013

Test: Canon PowerShot G10 (Digitalkamera)

CHIP Online
26 July 2009
  • Pros: Sehr hohe Auflösung, Top-Display, Sehr gute Bedienung, RAW
  • Cons: Bildrauschen, Teuer

Canon PowerShot G10 Review

LetsGoDigital
21 April 2009
