Summary: I had a Canon Elph 1000 and really like it until I dropped it. The 520 works just a good as my old camera and it has a feature to put the date on the picture. I really like dated pictures because it is easy to forget when a picture was taken.

Summary: Good camera but I thought it was waterproof and brought it on my cruise . Thankfully , the Celebrity cruise photographer told me it needed housing to make it waterproof or I would have ruined it . When I got home I contacted Canon and ordered it . You should let people know that housing is needed to make it waterproof .

Summary: This little camera is awesome..Its a point and shoot packed with loads of options for a more advanced person..It takes awesome pics and videos, Just make sure you want something small, cause it is all of that. Ive read complaints about noise and weak flash, but if your not an advanced photo person, you wont notice it. The only valid complaint I see, is the battery life,,I bought two extra and that cures the prob for me.
Summary: I bought this camera and was quite disipionted with it. It was really thick and the top of the screen was broken after the second day. It also has to have a micro SD or a microSDHC or microSDXC memory card for it to fit in the hole. It doesn't have very many settings on it. It is very easy to navigate and it really does take good pictures, but for someone who likes to mess around with the settings it isn't the right camera.
Summary: I bought this based on the reviews, and am satisfied, but not jumping out of my chair with excitement about it. I've been using it for about a month, mostly in settings that are easy for just about any camera to handle: outdoors in daylight. I've mostly used the "auto" setting, but have also played around in "Program" and with some of the cooler features like the movie clips (each time you take a photo, it takes a tiny video and stitches a day's worth together).
Summary: I really love this camera because it takes such clear pictures. One thing that is cumbersome is that it uses a micro SD card and you need the adapter to insert it in many printers. I'm also just getting used to it because it is a little different than my last camera. Overall it was a great bargain.
Summary: I got this camera thinking that it has a SD card slot like any other camera. but it has micro sd slot which uses micro sd cards that goes in the mobile phones. so make a not of this if you are buying this camera thinking of using the same SD card you use in other cameras and camcorders.
Summary: The Canon ELPH series constitutes light-weight, fun cameras, available in many colors, and focused on convenience. Let me use my usual disclaimer, in the interest of fairness, and admit that many cameras by reputable makers (and there are many) deliver what they promise. It is more about what camera traits you are looking for. So, I would suggest to anyone looking to buy one to google 'camera trait search' and get the whole picture.
