Good compact point & shoot

Excerpt: Key Stats: I purchased this camera in April 2011 and have used it at a couple of important events. Overall I was impressed with the camera's ability to take pictures in the environments that I needed. The environments included indoors with good lighting, indoors with dim lighting, and outdoors on a sunny afternoon. The camera performed well in all three of these environments, but the images appeared to be a little soft in the sunny afternoon environment pictures.
Go more expensive, especially for videos - this one is mediocre

Excerpt: Good everyday camera, but a couple of complaints. The video tends to blur at time which is very annoying! You shoot a video and then review it later and it is completely unusable and blurred throughout! How disappointing for those big moments when you are videoing something and then realize later that the footage is no good! I think this especially seems to happen when you are zooming and the camera lens just cannot handle it.
Excerpt: This camera is very light, compact, easy-to-use and takes great pictures. The images are clear and sharp. I've had this camera for at least a couple of years and it is still going strong. The only problem I have with it is the button that turns it on is way to close to the button that you use to snap the picture. I keep mine in a camera bag when not in use and haven't dropped it when not in the bag, so I can't rate it on being dropped, etc.
Great camera for someone who always wants a camera with her!

Excerpt: I was in the market for a new camera and wanted something small enough that I could fit in a purse, but would still take remarkable photos. This camera has far exceeded my expectations. The quality of the pictures is great and I've used it in all different types of settings-- close up, far way, night time, city landscapes, floral/landscape, portraits etc. Have only owned it for about 6 months, but have been extremely happy with my purchase.
Summary: This little camera - which is so small - was bought to replace a defective Panasonic Lumix. Every camera brand has its pros and cons, especially about the colour treatment. I found that the Canon Elph 300 renders blues and greens in a very « flashy » way; which is quite a contrast with my precedent Lumix. I would say that the Canon delivers a more dynamic finish. But... this camera has some downsides.
Summary: Great Camera that has a lot of features. Can snap up photos quickly, ease of use and has a HDMI port. 2 issues: the camera can scratch off paint a little too easy. When viewing recorded video from the camera itself, the low volume is a problem.
Summary: this is a great camera and I am sorry its no longer being made. Buy one if you can, you will not be dissappointed. Its no DLSR, but for a pocket size camera its one of the best within its price point.
Summary: Hi I was looking for a good quality point and shoot camera for a reasonable price. I saw one like it on sale at a local store for under 200 dollars so I decided to google search great point and shoot cameras. I also checked it out on u tube and found great reviews. Haven't had a lot of time using it yet however from my limited use it's excellent. The video is absolutely outstanding in my opinion.
Summary: This little Elph continues with the ease to use of all previous models of which I have three or four. What excels most is the HD 1080 video with stereo sound. Comparing with my SLR, the stills leave something to be desired (to be expected) in terms of sharpness and colour shades. Otherwise, it is easily a thumbs up purchase, especially at Amazon's price.
