Summary: Lots of buttons - could be a con, but reading the manual was a huge help and as I tend to do a lot more than just point and shoot, this was extremely valuable. I'd consider buying a second battery if you planned to use it continuously.
Pros: Excellent quality photos. Bright screen and lots of choices for additional on-display info. Reasonable battery life. Fast turn-on time. Love the presets, especially for underwater - great color balance correction. Was happy to see the UI had all the features you might want to use the camera in ma...
Cons: The 3x optical zoom range is rather limited. That's suddenly *very* noticeable on, say, a whale watch. I'd rather not use the electronic zoom unless really necessary as quality goes down noticeably. There is no RAW format setting. That has to be a built-in limitation - there's no real need to omi...
Summary: Would enthusiastically endorse this camera!
Pros: I read a lot of the reviews on this page when I bought a refurbished model back in February. I did experience the lens error message when I first started using it but it finally got to the point that onceI starte using the camera on a regualr basis, the error message stopped. I did not have the p...
Summary: I've had this camera for a year. Bought it last year before going in vacation in Costa Rica, to ensure that I can get some pictures in the water or anywhere where and when I couldn't use my Canon Digital SLR. I have waited to review it until I used it enough times and in different conditions.
Summary: I love everything about this camera except for it's bulkiness. The quality is great! I just don't like carrying it around my wrist all the time. I'd consider getting a different one if I could find something comparable in quality but smaller in size.
Pros: This has been a great camera! I take it everywhere with me, especially when I go play water sports. Pictures and videos are great quality!
Cons: It's a little too bulky. Too big to keep in my pocket so I have to keep it strung around my wrist.
Summary: I bought this camera before a trip to Fiji snorkeling. The waterproofing works very well as long as you follow the instructions correctly (I didn't the first time I went into the pool, and got a little water in it, but it survived).
Pros: Waterproof, fast startup time, well-designed interface, good image quality.
Cons: Short battery life. No extra-fine jpeg mode (though this is not so important with 12MP).
Finally, a "full service" waterproof camera for all those fun-filled vacations, let the kids go crazy!

Summary: So many of our family's vacations are at beaches, lakes, water-parks, or hikes and bringing along the sensitive digital camera has always been a problem. If I carried it then I could not get in water and I spent more time worrying whether the sand would damage it than taking pics of my family.
Excerpt: Excellent inexpensive camera. I initially purchased this camera for it's underwater feature only and figured I could use my other camera for everything else. After seeing how clear ALL of the pics turned out, I've used it as an everyday camera. The camera's video mode is quite nice too.
Summary: Purchased this camera to use snorkelling and have used it about six times so far without any problems. Having said that I did meet someone while on holiday who had experienced a leak with the same model.
Pros: Ease of use, Image quality
Cons: Battery life is a bit short, RAW format would be nice
