Summary: I've been a Canon camera guy for over 30 years and I've loved the many cameras I've bought and the excellent service I've always received from Canon. Sadly, my wife bought this camera to take on her trip to Italy and it failed after only a few dozen pictures. The camera turned off and the lens would not retract. Nothing would correct this (yes, she put in new batteries). On her return, we returned it to Amazon who gave her a prompt refund.
Summary: I looked forward to using this simple camera while out walking and cycling along the beach. I was looking for something that was simple to use with decent quality. I own several pro Canon DSLR's and never expected this camera to come close. I did, however, expect it to take at least decent pictures...and I was disappointed.
Excerpt: i think canon have improved from the A480 it dosent suck up as much power. it's not as good as the A2200 but that isn't a fair comparison is it? good price fro what it does Problems: charging flash takes a while to recharge battery life poor bad flash lots of noise i'd rather have a nikon coolpix L23
Summary: Bought this camera for vacation and on the third day the focus was completely gone. Could only see a blurred image in the screen and the last picture taken had lines across it. Thank goodness my husband had packed another older camera and we didn't miss any pictures.
Summary: This camera has everything going for it - except a viewfinder. I thought this would not be too much of a problem, but you just cannot see what you are taking if there is much sunshine around - the brightness/contrast of the LCD screen is just insufficient to compose any picture. I have bought several Canon cameras over the years for various reasons and all were brilliant - good quality, great photographs easy to use etc.
