Great model that Canon should have never stopped making!

Summary: I have had 3 of these cameras because one was stolen and its replacement got wet on a sailing trip. I liked this model so much I bought another nice used one on Ebay since they were no longer available retail. The pictures are stunning and easy to take. Camera is easily portable but has good weight and feel in the hand - not bulky and not tiny like the newer ones you have to hold/balance with your fingers. The four standard AA batteries are a nice plus too.
Great camera, great macro lens, for the price. Old model, lots of features.

Summary: This is a great easy to use comfortable digital camera. I actually own 4 of them. The camera has a wonderful macro lens feature, much better than a lot of higher end cameras, which suits my needs perfectly for taking pictures of jewelry and makers marks. It focuses down, on small details, without any problem. The resolution for my purposes is fine, as you can see from my pictures of the jewelry. It is precise and clear.
Has the Features of Pricier Cameras With A Price Tag For You

Excerpt: The Canon PowerShot A630 offers the features of more expensive cameras with a price you can afford. I've had mine for over a year now, and at the one year mark it has held up surprisingly well to little fingers, being dropped, and the works when you have little children around. However, smaller things are starting to go, and the manual can be a little challenging to figure out at times.
The Canon PowerShot is very user friendly! Great price too!

Excerpt: The Canon Powershot is my favorite camera to date. There are a lot of different setting to mess with and it's super easy to operate. Usually I'm a believer in what you pay for is what you get, but this camera was priced very reasonably-under $200. The internet has many how-to helps as well.
Excerpt: My mom purchased this Canon Power Shot camera for me for Christmas. It was to replace my Canon film camera. It is easy to use! I was taking great pictures right from the start. I love the big screen to view pics. Others (cameras) have much smaller viewing screen. The videos are great quality though take up a lot of space on the memory card.
Excerpt: I've gone through many digital cameras and this one is the best one I have owned. The picture quality is magnificent. The camera is very user friendly and is fairly small and compact. The swinging lcd screen makes hard shots so much easier to get. I won't go with any other camera.
Excerpt: This camera is worth the extra money. The flip out screen is wonderful for taking photos of you and another person. It is also nice because you can flip the screen in to prevent scratching. I research every big purchase to the extreme before buying and everything I read said that this was the best camera for great photos. After having it for a year, I agree. It takes wonderful pictures and is easy to use. I like to edit- specifically crop photos, and this camera...
Excerpt: Pros : Easy to use for an amateur but also has many settings and whistles for the more experienced. Has a large lcd screen that can be swiveled closed to protect it when not in use. Cons: When using the lcd screen I find it hard to hold the camera still enough not to blur the picture. Also the memory card is in an inconvient place. Must open the battery compartment to get it out.
