Excerpt: The Canon A610 digital camera is a great digital camera to own whetehr you are looking for a camera to take quality vacation pictures of your family, or looking for something to take better slightly professional pictures.
Summary: Modern digital cameras offer more pixels but this one can make pics printable at A3 size, which is good enough for me. I bought this for my wife, actually, because it is a good camera and easy to use, but you can grow into it, if you get more serious. I found one like it at an estate sale and bought it for $2.50 because it had no shutter button. No problem. I repaired it and found that I had a really nice camera for next to nothing.
Summary: I have owned this camera for several years and have been very pleased with it. Now I own a DSLR camera and am studying professional photography. As I compare both cameras I realize that my Canon Powershot is really great for its purpose. I have stretched the bounds of any point-and-shoot camera. I definitely recommend this one.
Awesome! I have a love affair with this wonderful camera :)

Summary: I purchased this camera 8 years ago, mainly I liked it for the flip screen which enables me to capture certain angles for floral photography. I was a beginner then and it was very easy to use. WOW, I now wish I had 3 of these as I dread the day this camera wears out as it has so many wonderful easy to use features. I especially like that it uses AA batteries..
Outdated in 2012, A610 is still fun when using Canon Hack Development Kit.

Summary: Bought the A610 after retiring its Vari-Angle predecessor the A80 sometime 2007. A610 is a major improvement from the A80 for sure. LCD is bigger. Camera weigh's less than the A80 with 4xAA batteries. Standard Movie mode no longer has 3 minute limit per clip. Uses SD rather than CF for memory. Accepts Lens Adapters that are of 52mm rather than 37mm .
Excerpt: I have a BenQ DC1500, but then I wanted a more powerful camera. I needed some requirements (SD card, 2" LCD, etc) and I asked a photographer friend of mine. The Canon Powershot A610 fulfills my needs and more! Now I have a camera that I can use in "family" situations (birthdays, etc) and take some arty pictures as well! (Which was unexpected for me). Thank you, Canon!!!
Very good camera, It's lower pixel count may not be for everyone

Summary: This product was bought to be used as a diving camera with underwater housing. I is proving to be a very capable camera. I has the typical Canon quality and more features that I will need for the intended purpose. The pictures are very sharp and clear, even underwater. I would recommend this camera to a friend.
