Summary: I bought this used and it arrived sooner than expected. The camera is good for outdoor daylight pictures. The only drawback is for indoor pictures. The flash takes too long to get ready between pictures. This camera is discontinued but it serves my purposes just fine.
Excerpt: Hi,I am a semi professional photographer and a great fan of camera's since childhood. Currently I own Nikon D90, Canon 1000D with 18-135 IS lens, 50mm 1.8 prime, Canon SX210. You read it correct..Canon Sx210!!! I wanted a compact for travelling, so I purchased SX210 and I regretted!
Excerpt: [I am newcomer & this is my first review!!] Canon Power Shot A590 IS,it's my first digital camera which I have used about 3 years. I like it very much. It's very nice entry level compact camera. It's good for those whose are only taken photo for hobby. It's 8 mega-pixels and lens 5.8-23.2mm of mine.
Excerpt: This is an excellent camera for the beginner, u can tweak with aperture values, shutter speed, and manual focus at the same time in "Manual" mode. Also, the aperture value range and shutter speed range is quite good especially for cameras of this price range.
Summary: This camera is amazing. This camera is for everyone. Whether you are a pro photographer who spends hours setting up a single shot or you need something to slip into your purse when you hit the town, this camera does everything.
Pros: OS and button placement:, The entire camera set-up is great. All of the buttons are in just the right places and make perfect sense. Same goes for the menus in the camera. I can always find what I am looking for and what I want to change. The Mode Dial on the top gives me quick control over how I...
Cons: Direct Print button. What a waste of a button. No one I know uses it from point-and-shoots to DSLRs, this is the most pointless button on all Canon models., Otherwise, no complains., What I expect from a camera that the Powershot A590 does not provide:, -Does not defend against ninjas. In our mod...
Excerpt: Purchased this as an upgrade from older cameras I use with CHDK -- it works fine with CHDK, but it really isn't an upgrade over CHDK on older models. Despite being a very "plastic" camera, tiny and light, it feels reasonably solid and well made.
Excerpt: Given the low price - under 100 € on Amazon.fr - the range of features offered by this camera is startling. This mitigates against it to some extent, because one immediately compares it with with other cameras offering the same features, most of which cost three or four times as much. On this level.
Excerpt: This is a camera which is not priced as high by retailers who don't know its real value. This camera is a real must for any photo buff. Full manual settings allow you to tweak f-stop, shutter speed and ISO, while seeing the results instantly on your LCD.
