Review Summary

The Canon PowerShot A570 IS is a point-and-shoot digital camera which provides a very good mixture of features and usability for novice photographers. Its optical image stabilization, manual exposure controls, good performance and optical viewfinder makes it as one of the entry-level A-series of digital cameras. Its features are a 4X optical zoom lens, 7.1 Megapixel CCD, full manual controls, a 2.5“ LCD display, and a VGA movie mode. It’s also known to be the cheapest Canon camera to offer optical image stabilization which is also in a way, easy to use. This camera has proved to many people that it’s an excellent compact digital camera. Basically, its large LCD has been appreciated by many of its users. And with it being lightweight isn’t spared either. With its 4X optical zoom lens and 7.1 Megapixel CCD, what can you expect but great image quality. Some users might complain that the weakness in this camera lies in the low capacity SD card and it being noisy at higher ISOs. Whereas some users might say that it misses a longer zoom and wide angle capabilities. The Canon PowerShot A570 IS also includes a Digic III processor chip. In other words, it also has Canon's face detection. Together with it is another feature, the in-camera red-eye removal. It lets you pluck the red pupils from your portrait victims in playback mode. This Canon includes 12 scene modes and with that a stitch assist and 4 movie modes. They are two standard modes, Fast Frame Rate movie mode and Compact movie mode. Not to forget that this camera as similar to all the A-series cameras, runs on AA batteries, so if you run out of power, you don't need to wait for charging, you need to get new batteries.
