Excerpt: Yes It takes great photos and is easy to use with nice features. Of Course that only happens when the camera is not malfunctioning.I bought the camera and had problems with it. It turns off when its not supposed to and sometimes the camera lens doesnt retract when the camera is off last time it stayed that way for 2 days before it finaly retracted. I sent it back to the manufacture for repairs as I was instructed to do and it took several months to get it back.
Excerpt: My husband bought this Canon Powershot A520 digital camera from my brother in law more than 3 years ago. It takes great quality pictures and the zoom on it works pretty good. I like that the camera is lightweight and small. It easily fits into my purse if we want to take it along with us when we go somewhere. Like most cameras, it has a viewing screen on the back to show you the pictures that you have taken.
Decent quality, fun to play around with, good customer service.

Excerpt: I have had my Canon PowerShot A520 for four years. It is still holding up and I expect to replace it sometime in the next year. It has been pretty dependable, and I have been pleased with how the settings have allowed me to move from a very basic, point and click perspective, to beginning to be interested in photography and experimenting with all the different settings.
Excerpt: Nice pocket size camera at an affordable price, with excellent battery life. The results are reasonable to good on wide angle and up to 3x zoom, however if you go all the way to 4x the results are truly appalling, very fuzzy and pixely. Don't even try the digital zoom because the results are a joke. Had I tried this camera before buying I would have saved money and bought a good 3x zoom digital camera.
Summary: Loved my Canon Powershot A10 -- an oldie but goodie. Still takes absolutely great photos even tho the hinge on the battery compartment is broken, and I'm using tape to hold it shut. Bought the 520 with high expectations. What I got was disappointment. 1- I have thrown out many photos. Many blurry, even with flash, even with subjects sitting still. 2- Noisy chime when you turn on the power -- very disconcerting when in a quiet setting.
