Summary: We've had this for a number of years, and it has always done a good job for us. It doesn't chew threw batteries, and it takes a good quality picture. Haven't found the need to upgrade to the latest and greatest.
Summary: This is a great sized camera! It fits in my glove box, my pouch, and even in my computer bag with the computer in it!!! I don't like the slow flash, however. I love the color and the zoom it easy and fast!!
Summary: A great working camera at a great price. Some people might not be aware of this, but this is one the few newer cameras that can be set to one the lowest pixel setting of (640 x 480) and is important for me because I email a lot of my pictures to the insurance companies that require this lowest pixel size. Very happy with my purchase.
Summary: I bought this camera for my daughter (college age) just for fun pictures! She's a photography major, so this camera is definitely used just for fun with her friends and family. Thus far, the pictures come out quite clear and she likes he little zoom of the lens. It is a lightweight camera and I wouldn't buy this for a younger child as it could easily break if dropped. It also doesn't come with a micro SD card, so there isn't any storage of pictures without one.
Summary: This camera gives excellent results in the hands of a novice. Purchased for my parents, it is easy to use and easy to get around in. 99% of all users do not need a camera with greater resolution. Buy a camera with good glass used in the lens.
Summary: I got this camera in red color for Christmas last year for my daughter. This camera has a better sensor than SD1100 and takes great pictures and it is very easy to use. Uses 2 AA batteries and it lasts a reasonable time. Ideal camera for children. Highly recommended!
Summary: This is the 5th A series Canon I have purchased (three for myself, two for my adult daughter). All prior Canons were replaced because they lasted so long they became outdated. This one was bought because it's very pocketable, uses easily obtained AA cell batteries and mostly because of the price. The Canon A590IS it supplements is 4 yrs. old, still works great but is a little bulky to fit in my wife's pocketbook.
Summary: Love the camera. Love the pics. Just make sure you read the manual and take some practice shots. This is a point and shoot camera (with the right settings) but it can do so much more if you're willing to invest the time and effort. Make sure you use a good wrist strap and always have the camera secured against dropping. These are delicate instruments and don't survive impact well.
