Summary: The problem with getting a battery powered camera is that the camera is battery powered. Which means the thing runs out of batteries if you even LOOK at it too long. Camera seems a little flimsy in the hand. Pictures are good with it, when you remember to put fresh batteries in it. This would be a good backup emergency type of camera. If you are looking for a good everyday camera, get one with a rechargable battery, much less hassle.
Summary: I absolutely hate this camera. I had the previous version and loved it but my grand daughter accidently dropped it in the bathtub. This camera uses up the batteries like crazy. I have rechargables and they die sooner than non rechargables. Just when you want to take the best picture you get the message that your flash is recharging and by then the shot you wanted to take is gone. the pictures are blurry and disoriented. I wish I had never gotten this camera.
Summary: I cannot believe that Canon would even release this thing! I have tried it with several different types of batteries and not one of them will last more than 1 day. INCREDIBLE!!!!!!! The other day,..I put in fresh batteries out of the box.....took the camera to my son's game. Took 10 photos within 1 hour of putting in the batteries....DONE! batteries are drained. What a piece of junk!
Summary: This is the worst product I have ever had in my entire life. I put in new batteries, take two pictures, turn it off, then the batteries are drained the next morning. UNBELIEVABLE PIECE OF TOTAL CRAP! CANON SHOULD BE SUED.
Summary: This camera takes two AA batteries, which last about 24 hours. I'm not sure if I got a lemon or what but the battery life makes this camera just about unusable. Picture quality is fine - if the camera will take the picture. Most of the time, I take out the camera and it won't work because the battery has died. Very disappointing.
Summary: Some features of this camera are merely inconvenient, like the very short battery life and the wait of several seconds between flash photos. But the deal breaker is the blurry pictures that result from focus issues. I tried for several weeks to adjust to the camera, but it's practically unusable with that issue. I'm a Canon fan, and bought this camera to replace my venerable SD400 after seeing a good review in Consumer Reports. Very disappointing.
Summary: Sorry to say, this is my 1st negative review of a product on Amazon and I hate to do it, however I would not be able to recommend this camera model to anyone! (I have had Canon Powershots in the past that I loved, too.) I bought this camera and immediately fell in love. It was easy to use, took great macro and regular shots, and was just an overall wonderful camera! That was until the batteries started going out after about taking 50 shots with it.
