Summary: I bought this because I needed a cheap camera that could be hacked (google CHDK--it's a software kit that gives you a lot more control over your Canon camera). This, combined with a Gorillapod tripod and a 16 GB SD card, let me take time-lapse images with manual control over focus, ISO, and shutter speed, for well under $100. The only things I'm not crazy about are the lack of an internal rechargeable battery and the mediocre quality of the images.
Easy to use Canon A480 digital camera and inexpensive

Excerpt: Did a lot of searching for a reliable, easy to use, inexpensive point & shoot digital camera. This one doesn't break the bank, is a reliable Canon product (unlike my much more expensive Konica/Minolta that cannot be repaired) and was so easy to immediately shoot what I needed without reading a ton of information. Easy to handle, lightweight and love the bright fun colors it comes in... Its not fancy but adequate for what I want to capture.
Excerpt: I spent a quite a few weeks looking at digital cameras under $150. I was looking for short shutter lag, more than 6 mp, but not a lot of bells and whistles. I mostly take family snapshots and I have a 3 year old so I wanted it to be fast. The Canon A480 has met and/or exceeded my expectations. It's lightweight, acceptable shutterlag and price are what I was looking for.
Excerpt: I bought this camera for a trip to New York. I took almost 200 pictures with it. However, after a few days there, the lenses broke. When it started up it make a loud creaking noise. Image Quality dropped and the camera stopped working all together when I got back home. It gave me an error code. I looked it up online and it ended up to be very widespread. However, I traded it in for a New one, the exact same camera and has been working perfectly.
Excerpt: I like how compact the little camera is and even though it is small it has a decent sized screen. Good quality photos and the videos are nice and crisp. I wish that there was an option to delete all of the photos off of the camera at once but you have to delete them one at a time. For the price, i have been very satisfied.
