Excerpt: I hate spending a lot of digital cameras only for the simple fact that they go out of date so fast. I bought this one less than a year ago with the 7.1 mega pixels and now they have 10 mega pixels out. I loved that it took pictures really fast. There wasn't a delay and you got the picture you actually wanted. Now it is very slow and I most often than not miss my intended picture. It also eats batteries like crazy.
Excerpt: I have owned the Canon Powershot A470 camera for a little over a year now. I like that it is small and pretty compact. I actually carry it constantly in my diaper bag or purse. I especially like the large screen so that I can see the pictures better than on my previous smaller camera. It is easy to delete pictures, go back and view pictures, and zoom in. It did not take me long to learn how to use this camera.
Excerpt: With the Power Shot camera , what you see is what you get. I am able to properly size the picture before snapping the shutter and I have little need to spend time at work editing pictures. This camera uses two AA batteries. The batteries seem to last a long time. I recommend this camera for quick pictures where clarity and sharpness are not necessary in cropped images. It is very functional as a fast point and shoot device.
Summary: I bought this camera for my daughter as her first camera and it has proved to be a good choice. I like the fact it runs on AAs (gives us a backup option if our other cameras run out of power with their proprietary batteries) and is not too small to handle in my big meat-hooks (small enough for a nine year old and big enough for me to use). It takes very decent pictures and even video (which my daughther like a lot).
Summary: I bought this camera for Christmas because of the price and the name Canon..so far I like it the pictures are clear the only weird thing is when you upload them to your pc you can see the pixels in some of the pictures...
