Canon PowerShot A460 Camera Review

Review guidelines
12 May 2013
  • Summary: The Canon PowerShot A460 is a camera of average quality, out of a year and a half proves backward compared to most of the newer models, but can be useful if you want a machine that takes pictures discrete and easily. The sensor is only 5 MP, does not have a stabilizer and all the other advanced features, but at least has a 4x optical zoom, and slightly above average and the viewfinder has disappeared from the compact. Great price.
  • Pros: Price; optical zoom slightly above average
  • Cons: Low ISO, resolution is not high, No advanced features; Poor battery life provided

Canon PowerShot A460

  • Summary: It’s true, there are a couple of weaknesses with this camera but they can be forgiven quickly for a camera at this level, given the good overall image quality, the performance and its sub £100 price. And, when you realise for another £40 you can buy this camera with the Selphy CP520 printer (see its complimentary test via the link above) as a bundle, it looks even better.
  • Pros: Image quality, Easy to use, Focusing and macro mode, For an extra £40, it’s available as a bundle with the Selphy CP520 printer.
  • Cons: Confusing four-way controller, Heavy on the power from AA cells, LCD prone to flaring in bright conditions, Limited sensitivity options, LCD blacks out during flash recharge.

Canon PowerShot A460

PC Magazine
12 September 2007
  • Conclusion: As I found with last year's cheapest PowerShot, the inexpensive A460 point-and-shoot is a very nice, portable, compact digital camera that takes very good pictures.
  • Pros: Very good picture quality. Decent performance. No shutter lag.
  • Cons: Terrible recycle time. Poor video quality.

Canon Powershot A460

Cameras
8 August 2014
  • Conclusion: There is a lot to like about the Powershot A460, but the noise levels and also the shutter lag times when the flash unit is being used are major causes of concern. The strong points include the natural colours and small amount of extra zoom on an entry level digital camera.
  • Pros: Colours, Extra zoom, Viewfinder
  • Cons: Noise, Shutter lag times with flash

  • Pros: Good ergonomics, image quality as lower ISOs, easy to use, good metering and colour, good lens

Expert Review

Tecnozoom
25 July 2007
