Broke rather quickly.

Summary: Broke after about a year. Canon must be lowering its standards because my son's older silver canon can at least still turn on if he fiddles with the lens servos. This one won't even extend the lens out before posting a "lens error" and he never mistreated this one to the best of my knowledge. Especially since he was super sad about breaking the lens servos on his silver camera which he's now forced to use. We bought a fuji to replace this.
Summary: Yes, I really loved it in the beginning. Then suddenly it lost the whole lense protecter !! How could this have fallen off? Wonder what I do now? No-one has this part -my whole camera is not worth much anymore. Had several cameras in my life, this has never happened before. What a terrible loss - so very upsetting. Will Amazon do anything about this? ???
Summary: I have had to ask Canon to replace this model (A4000) IS two times in less than a year. The first camera stopped turn on after 4 months; it was replaced by canon, and the second want was good for another few months , then it started to show a "lens error" and didn't start it. There is something wrong with this model, but the Canon's representatives don't know it or don't want to accept it. So good luck if you decide to but it.
Lens error rendered the camera worthless just out of warranty

Summary: I loved the camera for the year that it worked. I usually took it with me to work functions off site when I didn't want to be bothered hauling around my Nikon digital SLR. Loved the video feature, even indoors. I was plagued by the automatic lens cap that would not close properly. Then the camera zoom lens stopped working completely, When I try to turn the camera on the screens says "Lens error Will shut down automatically Restart camera.
Summary: I have purchased a few Canon camera's in the past and have been very happy. This lens on this model broke during our vacation in Italy after 3 months, we called Canon and it was out of warranty. The lens is stucked can't be fixed after only using it a few times of careful use. I feel like Canon did nothing to help and wasted my money on a poorly built product. This will be the last Canon camera I purchase.
Summary: Bought the camera for my daughter based on reviews I saw of the product on Amazon. She must have used the camera on 3 occasions and then gave it back to me saying it did not work. The battery would not recharge and we were prompted to replace the battery pack. I spent additional $$ replacing the battery pack. Now the shutter does not close and I am being told the battery pack is bad and I need to get another one.
Summary: I thought Canon is a reputable brand! However this is just a cheap one. I am returning it because all the pictures I have taken are blurry and the color of the pictures are so pale. My daughter has a Canon elph 100hs and it's awesome take really great pictures and the colors are vibrant. I am so disappointed.
Summary: The battery door was extremely hard to open and since you need to remove the battery every time to recharge, this was an awefule design. Not sure if it was meant to be more water tight or a design defect but bad product.
Summary: I buy cameras that are less than $150 because with 2 toddlers they always get dropped or destroyed somehow. This is by far the worst one I have had (3 in the last 3 years). The picture quality is awful. The colors are off. A lot of pictures come out blurry. I am hoping one of my kids will drop it in a large pool of water so that it can forever be gone from my life. Okay, that's a little dramatic...but it's so useless that I just end up taking photos on my iphone.
