Horrible camera, DO NOT BUY
7 November 2013
Summary: Do not buy this camera! It has given me nothing but aggravation from day one. Do yourself a favor and spare yourself all that aggravation. Honestly, this is the first review I've ever written. I'm not the type to write reviews, but I feel a responsibility to tell other buyers what I wish I knew before I purchased this piece of junk, in order to spare other people the disappointment I suffered following this most unfortunate purchase.
Summary: The quality of the photos with this camera is pretty bad. Even worse, there are a couple of dozen icons on the view finder that have no legend in the manual. I have no idea what they are, nor what they mean. Pick something else. This one stinks.
Summary: This Camera arrived without a memory card!! Very disappointing!! Therefore, it caused a delay before it could be used!!! Had to get a memory card before it could be used by my grandson!! A sad disappointment!!
Summary: I've had several Canon cameras over the years, including several in the small and Elph size models, and I can say with no reservations that the A3400 is the worst camera I've ever used. The JPEG compression or the filtering to overcome it makes every photo of a person blurry or soft. I shot photos indoors and outdoors and have essentially 100 useless photos.
Summary: Although I purchased this camera at a local retailer and not through Amazon, I thought I would share my experience with other Amazon customers who are considering purchasing it here: As much as I would like to say otherwise, the picture quality is TERRIBLE. The main problem is the complete LACK OF SHARPNESS. Every picture comes out BLURRY, all detail is LOST, and there's a noticeable LACK OF CLARITY and crispness around edges, even when using flash.
Summary: The camera is awful. I expected Canon to deliver a great product because I am using Canon products and big Canon fan. The quality of image has disappointed me and the video is worse! Did not expect this from Canon.
Summary: Picture quality was very disappointing. Tried different modes and settings, but, same results. Images were blurry in some areas and colors seemed washed out and dull, even with an upgraded SD card too! I took out my 7 year old Kodak camera and took the same pics, and they turned out fine. Maybe I didn't work with the settings enough, or maybe I received a lemon, but it was very disappointing. It seems odd because this camera is 3x more powerful than my old Kodak.
Summary: This camera is solid except for the fact there is no viewfinder. Therefore, if you're shooting on a sunny day and can't see the screen, you have no idea what you're shooting, nor do you what the settings are set to. This is very poor design in my opinion.
