One year old and already isn't recognized by my computer

Summary: Somehow it has altered its own registry. After re-installing several times and getting no help from Canon....I am tossing it in the lake. This should be at the bottom of every camera wish list....and is now at the bottom of my lake.
Summary: Kind of disappointed with this camera.. It does take good pictures but takes a while to reset in between shots. The controls on the screens dont really save any time or make it easier. Actually this will probably be the last point and shoot camera I will ever by. Why bother these days, when your smartphone has a so much better one.
Summary: Grandma is 85 now and finally switched from 35mm to this model of digital camera. She liked this camera because it was easy to operate. She didn't want anything fancy. "Just the basics, that's all I need". She had this same model a little over a year when I think it got dropped with the lens out and it broke. When you turned it on, it would shut off right away.
Summary: I replaces my old Canon with this new PowerShot. I think I like it but I don't love it yet. Maybe I will. It has an ease is use especially the video button. Although the video will not appear to be clear when you zoom in. The pictures are not as sharp as I would think 16MP should be. It's hard to change the settings to what might be appropriate and the touch screen could be a little intrusive while in use.
