Summary: good camera for the money. I don't want to buy anything overly expensive because we have gone through quite a few camera's in the last couple years. this one is easy to use and takes relatively good pictures without having to pay alot. it also has a video setting with OK sound...I have used it quite a bit when i don't have the camcorder on hand.
Excerpt: Hello, My wife recently bought an A3000IS. She wanted a small, cheap, take-anywhere camera for family snaps and travel. I was hoping for something with more manual controls, but budget won out! Overall, the camera is a nice surprise, providing you judge it for what it is -a small, cheap compact with reasonably intelligent auto settings and plenty of scene modes. It is not meant to compete with DSLRs or high end compacts!
Summary: I got this camera for my daughter that had another model of Power Shot. It is small and easy to take with you. The up-close pictures are sharp but she was not happy with the quality of the distance photos; they seems fuzzy and out of focus. It seems a good camera for most occasions and good value for the price payed.
Summary: This is an easy to use point and shoot camera that will get the job done. It would make a great gift for a novice photographer. it's quite small making it perfect for travel and less conspicuous. The picture quality is very good for the price. It could be better, but you would need to invest more money in a higher end camera. I think this model is one of the strongest competitors in its group.
Summary: I normally shoot with an Olympus E-410, but I got tired of lugging it around town and was looking for a cheap, compact point and shoot. I wasn't interested in gimmicks like dual LCDs or HD recording since I probably wouldn't use them anyway. After reading reviews, I settled on this camera and am relatively pleased. Picture quality is about what I'd expect and need for its intended use - casual shots of family and friends.
