Summary: We bought this for pictures on Ebay we love it for its convenience and it is light weight takes great pictures. Compared to other types of this ilk we have used, the color and focus at close range are uncomparable
Conclusion: 2.5 I am very disappointed with the camera. My 14mpx Camera takes much better pictures and is much easier to control features. It also has a light for video which this does not. I am most disturbed by the fact that it will not charge via the USB cable which almost all others do. So using the USB cable to transfer photos drains my battery. This is not disclosed on the package. I am considering taking it back!
Pros: Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings, Poor image quality, Short battery life, Complicated controls/menu, can't charge with usb
Conclusion: Solid construction but... 1. No USB/interface cable included. Available online, but is out of stock. Seriously, for the price, I would think Canon could afford to include this cable...most other brands do, and it is not clearly indicated on the package what is included, so you're out of luck when you've opened it. 2. The user interface is very complex.
Summary: I like the camera because of it convenient size, we use this camera for work situations. It has to function in all sorts of conditions many which are adverse its one handed operation makes it invaluable. The only adverse is that the lens function starts to bind and soon quits working. while we do not abuse the camera we take thousands of pictures per month. We like this product for it's size, it's function(time/date stamp) and the price.
Summary: I ended up returning the camera due to problems with the camera, but here are the comments I had after my short time with it: Pro: +Decent features considering the price +Compact size, very similar to the Canon ELPH series +Good picture quality. Better than my smartphone which was one of my ultimate desires +Rechargeable and removable battery Cons: -Extremely minor and probably not worth mentioning, but my previous Canon came with a small plastic piece to tighten/loosen...
