Conclusion: It's unfortunate that Canon (and every other company) has stopped making a camera with a viewfinder. So many people want a digital camera with viewfinder - it's impossible to see in sunlight without it. This camera does an excellent job. Being able to use AA batteries was also a big plus.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Summary: A very good quality in shots and easy to work. pppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp
Summary: The best camera a person can have is the one that is with them. This is a neat unit that is pockatable and helps ensure that it will be with you when needed. Picture quality is excellent and better than most cell phones. Plus, it has an optical viewfinder that is critical under many lighting situations., In short, this camer5a is a little gem!
Excerpt: I am using the Canon Powershot A1400 at work. It is lightweight and easy to use, and the quality and clarity of the photographs really is amazing. I use a Canon Rebel from time to time, when it's available, but my Powershot makes taking pictures much, much easier. I have already received numerous compliments on my photographs, and I tell everyone that they should purchase a Powershot right away.
Great pictures, small camera, view finder and very affordable.

Summary: This camera is great. It performs in full light almost as well as my EOS DSLR, but I can put in my pocket. View finder is great in full sunlight. Fantastic price - takes wonderful pictures. Highly recommend.
Summary: If anyone is looking for a camera with "DUAL" viewing option, LCD screen as well a PEEP HOLE to view that subject material in bright sunlight, this camera is for you, great price, great camera and great Canon customer service. Everything you want in a point & Shoot pocket camera.
Conclusion: After doing much research on websites, I went to a store yesterday and bought this camera. I wanted one that uses REGULAR AA batteries - not rechargeable - have only used it for several indoor and outdoor pictures so far, and got very good results. I really like the way it feels in my hand. I had a Canon A570 for 6 years and it died 5 days ago. This new one is much lighter and smaller.
