Summary: This is the second A1300 that I bought, and both of these cameras had a lens disfunction. The lens gets "stuck" in the on position and then it won't retract. But other than that it is the best camera that I've used - it has a view-finder, the movie function works great, it is easy to understand - I just wish it would keep working!
Summary: It seemed like a toy almost and sometimes did whatever it wanted to in terms of flashing or turning off and such. Mine could have been defective but overall I just didn't like it for the price.
Summary: This is a fairly priced point and shoot camera. It takes decent pictures. Outside in normal to bright light the camera's response is fast and the pictures are clear and crisp. Inside with low light the flash goes off but the pictures are grainy and it takes several long seconds to be ready for the next shot. The delay is frustrating and aggravating. I have missed several good pictures. Our grandkids are cute for only so long and missing inside shots is bothersome.
Summary: Canon A1300 Sure Shot Pros - Has an optical viewfinder !! - a must have in bright sunlight Uses two AA batteries !! - can buy at almost any store Confortable in your hand and fits nicely in shirt pocket or purse Takes a very good still photo Takes a very good HD Video with good single audio (non-stereo) Can also take a fairly good standard video with single audio - good for saving SD Card space Audio sounds fairly good when having to video in gusty wind conditions - as...
Summary: Still getting used to this as it is not in constant use. Generally satisfied. I would not recommend any camera because there are so many differences betweeen makes and models and it depends on individuals needs and preferences.
Summary: This is my fourth Canon camera. The first lived through a fall and although it had a dint here and there, it kept right on giving me good shots. My second was my first digital. I loved it, until it died - something about the lens. I bought a new one and it lasted for a few years and then refused to hold a charge. One picture and then it needed a new set of batteries.
Summary: Camera seems to work fine as described. The camera body is all plastic and none too sturdy at that. I'm fearful that the battery top and cable entry covers will disentegrate in no time. Nowhere in any of the descriptions I read was the lightweight plastic body described.
