perfect for taking pictures of my daughter!

  • Excerpt: I bought this camera after my daughter started crawling.  My older Canon could no longer keep up with her! I really like this camera a lot.  Although,  I haven't learned all of the settings or features yet, and I mostly keep it on the AUTO setting.  But it works for me and has gotten me some good photos. I'm in no way a photographer and this has helped me "fake it" a little!

Batteries die on this camera too quickly for me

  • Excerpt: My husband and I bought this camera to upgrade from our older Kodak Easy Share.  It was on sale around Black Friday time, and I had done a little research to think that this was a good camera for the price.  I was really looking for something that could take picture after picture more quickly than our Kodak.  This was not the case with this camera, and I have actually gone back to using the Easy Share.

  • Excerpt: OK-So there is nothing wrong with this camera-it has great, clear imaing. Multiple selections on picture type...such as outdoor, moving, sports, and so forth....you can edit your pictures on the camera. You can even zoom in on any taken pictures to get a closer look at what your picture looks like. The screen to view your pictures is a very good size, its not tiny where you cant see what your picture even looks like, even if your blind..like my m om..

Great camera, but problems

  • Excerpt: Bought this camera with a mission, to travel to East Asia and back with great photos in a simple to backpack with point-and-shoot camera. This was also why we opted for this model with double A batteries as opposed to re-chargable for its versatility in situations where we might not be able to plug in. It was a success in the battery respect and also captured absolutely beautiful photos.

"Inconsistent Performance"

9 September 2010
  • Pros: 12 Mega pixels that occasionally takes amazing photos Mode Dial instead of menu easy to use menu system high view screen quality Uses AA Batteries Cheap memory cards video and audio quality good More powerful external flash available for about $85
  • Cons: optical viewfinder a total waste of space and weight randomly takes bad out of focus pictures, but you won't be able to tell until it's on your computer screen at home (The viewscreen on the camera is way to small) built in flash good for 3 to 4 feet

"No "Sports" mode?!"

littlesteviedirkx, CNET
13 July 2010
  • Pros: Seems well built, for the low price. Picture Quality Good, for the price and purpose, in my case, a 'second' camera to carry around in the glove compartment.
  • Cons: Overcrowded mode dial WITHOUT "Sports" mode( high shutter speed). Would gladly give up "FIreworks" ,"Aquarium" or "Foliage" modes to have a Sports mode, because the P (Program) mode also doesn't allow any shutter speed adjustment.

Problems

  • Summary: This is a nice little camera but the zoom mechanism is poor. It operates with a lever, which does not allow for careful calibration. I also miss a pouch for the camera, which is essential to preserve the camera. Looking for a separate pouch is a bother.
