Just okay- not impressed
9 September 2012
Excerpt: I have been a professional portrait photographer for 8 years and Canon is my brand of choice. I have had three different Digital SLRs from them and love them all. So when I had a need for a point and shoot camera, I of course decided to go with another Canon. I know I am spoiled by the image quality and controls of my 5D Mark II, but I am usually disappointed with the images from this camera.
Summary: This works very well for outdoor and strong light. Over all this is a good camera for its price range. The life of battery is so short. Do not handle very well the low light condition. Shows a lot of noise in low light picture. I don't think this is a true 10 Meg Pix, it's just like the 6.2 meg pix.
Pros: Bright LCD, Comfortable Controls, Easy Setup, Easy To Use
Cons: Poor Operation in Low Light, Short Battery Life
Summary: I've owned many digital point and shoots and within this family have owned both the A80 and the A630...Both of those cameras were great as they have the rotating lcd screen. This one does not. My major problem with this camera is the time it takes for the flash to recharge before shooting again. It literally takes up to six seconds. I've never experienced that bad of a shutter lag. I wouldn't recommend the camera for that purpose.
