Canon PowerShot A1000 IS

Digital Photography Interface
23 September 2013
  • Conclusion: The Canon PowerShot A1000 is a nice addition to Canon’s entry-level line of cameras. It’s just like the A2000 I reviewed, with a smaller 4X lens, screen size and the addition of an optical viewfinder. The main features of the camera are its 10 megapixel resolution, 4X zoom lens, 2.5 inch LCD and very good battery life. The PowerShot A1000 changes three main things from the A2000: Lens, screen and to a lesser extent, design.
  • Pros: Compact design with a fairly decent right hand grip and viewfinder, Generally good image quality (with one issue below though), Very good battery life, Fast picture-taking performance, Effective red-eye removal and low color fringing
  • Cons: No manual controls and no more conversion lens compatibility, Corners a tad soft (but I’m nitpicking here), Reflective LCD needs “correct angleâ€ outdoors, low in resolution, Lacks a battery indicator; lens doesn’t retract if the camera is low on battery

Canon A1000IS Review

About.com
26 April 2013
  • Summary: With a suggested price of about $180, the Canon PowerShot A1000IS digital camera isn't going to offer a host of high-end features. However, what my Canon A1000IS review shows is that it does offer an excellent all-around feature set, making it a good choice for beginning photographers seeking a point-and-shoot model. With a higher-quality LCD screen, the A1000IS would receive a better rating.
  • Pros: Image stabilization technology works very well, Plenty of resolution for most users, Overall response times good for model in this price range, Optical viewfinder or LCD is available for framing photos, Design is good with well-placed dials and buttons
  • Cons: LCD sharpness is below average, LCD can be difficult to see in bright sunlight, A little bigger zoom lens would be nice

PC Magazine
20 October 2009
  • Conclusion: Canon's PowerShot A1000 IS excels at the basics—dead-simple "Easy Mode" shooting, sharp images, and speedy performance—all at a very palatable price.
  • Pros: Great image quality for the price. Handy "Easy Mode" prevents you from accidentally changing settings. Fast recycle/boot-up times with little shutter lag.
  • Cons: Bulky. Viewfinder clips part of your images. High amounts of noise even at low ISO settings.

Canon PowerShot A1000 IS Review

thinkdigit.com
26 March 2009
  • Summary: The Canon PowerShot A1000 IS is cheaper than the other Canon cameras from the PowerShot series at Rs 11,995. It's nothing impressive and the lack of some advanced features means people who want to develop some photography skills are not going to enjoy using it. Users who want a simple point and shoot camera, click the odd photo might find it usable.

Digital Camera Review
1 December 2008
  • Excerpt: Canon's PowerShot A-series digital cameras have been popular with discerning digicam purchasers since the introduction of the groundbreaking little A20 in 2000. Consumers liked them because they were affordable, relatively compact, user-friendly, feature rich, and sturdily built.
  • Pros: Compact, Good lens, Optical viewfinder, The A-series handgrip returns!
  • Cons: No manual exposure capability, Battery life could be better, Auto white balance about par for the course

Canon Powershot A1000 IS

PhotographyBLOG
9 September 2008
  • Summary: At first glance the new Canon Powershot A1000 IS looks identical to its bigger brother, the A2000. I reviewed both cameras at the same time and actually preferred the slightly cheaper A1000 model in many ways. Although offering a smaller 2.5 LCD screen and shorter 4x zoom lens, the A1000 is noticeably smaller and lighter, has a true optical viewfinder, and benefits from having a curved hand-grip area.

Absolut Photo
28 December 2012
  • Pros: Rapport qualité - prix, Stabilisation, Viseur optique

Canon PowerShot A1000 IS: Do každé rodiny

Ještě jistějšímu úchopu by ovšem prospělo, kdyby povrch gripu nebyl z hladkého plastu.
