Blurry and overexposed

Summary: We got this camera for my daughter for Christmas after my fater-in-law raveda about his SD1000. I cannot figure out how this camera has so many great reviews?! Are their expectations THIS low? We have a 9 year old inexpensive point and shoot that takes better photos!
Summary: I have owned many of the power shot cameras and this one has been by far the worst I have owned. (SD890 was the best). The camera is less than 6 months old and photo clarity has gotten so poor that I finally sent it to the canon repair center. The camera has always been inconsistent with clear pics.
Summary: bought this camera for our africa trip. Within days it started to have lens errors and took blurry pictures. Canon warranty claims it has been water damaged. I have always taken care of my camera and know it was not dropped or near water or had any water related accident.
NOT an upgrade from the SD1100 - just a low end wanna be

Summary: After toying with a Canon SD1100 IS that belongs to a friend of mine, and deciding that my 7 year old Nikon point-and-shoot needed to be upgraded, I had made my decision on a new purchase. However, the Canon SD1100 had been discontinued by Canon and was no longer available from retailers.
Summary: I bought this camera as a replacement of an older Canon PowerShot SD800IS which I accidentally broke. I was so pleased with the older model I bought this newer model without checking it firsthand at a store (after all it is many more features).
Summary: Normally I am a big fan of Canons but this model is horrible. The pictures are always out of focus and the image quality is so poor not nearly as good as some of the older models. No matter what you do, close ups, far away they all take crummy pictures.
Summary: I am typically the BIGGEST fan of these Canon ELPH cameras. I owned the SD450 and still do have the SD1000. The SD450 was a victim of being tossed around in luggage, so when that broke, I went with the SD1000 and was very happy.
Summary: I have been buying Canon Powershots for years: SD400, SD600, SD1100 (purchased in 2008) and have greatly enjoyed their portability and excellent, sharp images. I even hiked and *trail ran* with them, and they have held up well considering.
Summary: I bought this camera partly on the basis of the 4 ½ star reviews. People are obviously happy with this camera in general. However, I have been extremely disappointed by the Digital Ixus 95 and will explain. I used to have a Canon Digital Ixus 40 and this was the best camera I have ever owned.
