Cannon PowerShot SD 1200 IS
22 March 2014
Excerpt: I love this camera! I have had several different brand name cameras in the past (Fuji and Olympus), but they cannot compare to the quality of a Cannon PowerShot Camera. One of my favorite features of the Cannon PowerShot SD1200 IS is that it comes in so many colors!
Summary: My wife really wanted a shirt pocket sized camera as a backup to her Nikon, but she wanted a viewfinder. It's becoming harder and harder to find viewfinders on anything less than the DSLR's, but this Canon had one. It's not perfect, but for those times when it is really bright out, or you are having problems holding the camera steady, the viewfinder is very handy.
Summary: I generally love Canon cameras, and I've owned quite a few models, but I regret buying this one. Pros: * Technically, the camera is perfect. It's never malfunctioned, even after being submerged in water. * It's lightweight, records video, has a decent shutter speed, and takes relatively wide angle photos. Cons: * Takes awful pictures. Even with the flash off, the quality is abysmal. * Unflattering portraits. * Excessive digital noise.

Summary: I was trying to decide on a camera forever. Cheap, but good quality. I didn't think it was possible. This camera is honestly the best camera ever; as a casual picture taker and someone who does not own a large scanner (so I have to photograph my artwork), I can say it does both of those jobs very well. I did not expect such high quality pictures with this camera.
Summary: Best camera I have ever owned. Takes amazing photos. Very strong and lasts long. Unfortunately mine fell in the beach water and spoiled, which was no fault of the cameras, otherwise it would have still been here for many more years!
Excerpt: A really great compact if you ask me. *One thing, the specs said, 1.4 fps on continuous mode, but here's a trick, you can haste it up by choosing ISO3200 mode, it can shoot up to 3fps.* It is also great at landscapers, though a wider focal length is better. The colors are great, if, and only if you set to Vivid coloring. I can't say much since it is a compact, and for a compact, it's a great camera. Fast and sturdy.
Excerpt: An excellent workaround fully corrects the unacceptable flaw in the "AUTO" mode of this otherwise excellent iteration (PowerShot SD1200 IS, alias Digital IXUS 95 IS) of the Canon IXUS family: - Choose the "Kids&Pets" mode (instead of the default "AUTO" mode) - Set the "Recording Pixels (Image Size)" to "L" (instead of the default "S") - Set the "Image Quality (Compression Ratio)" to "Fine" (instead of the default "Normal") Then "Kids&Pets" works as a perfect "AUTO" mode,...
