Canon Powershot SD1200 IS

29 September 2011
  • Summary: The Canon Powershot SD1200 IS, despite having the highest model number of all SD-series, is quite simple in terms of specifications: a 10 megapixels sensor, ISO up to 1600 and a minimal 3X optical zoom lens. Perhaps this makes it less interesting, but thinking this way, you would miss the point of the SD1200. This ultra-compact sticks with Canon's winning formula for easy-to-use and intuitive ultra-compact digital cameras.
  • Pros: Low image noise, Natural rendition of image colors, Above average white-balance performance, Corner-to-corner image sharpness, Very fast and responsive, Excellent LCD visibility, Excellent build quality
  • Cons: Tendency to overexpose, Loss of details starts at ISO 400, Limited use ISO 800 and 1600, Shutter lag when flash is on is too long, Limited dynamic-range, Too few zoom steps, Difficult to hold securely

Canon's IXUS 95 IS is a small digital camera that's fun to use, but don't expect great image quality

Good Gear Guide.au
17 May 2010
  • Summary: The Canon IXUS 95 IS digital camera is small and convenient. It's useful if you just want to take quick snapshots when you're at the pub or at a party, but don't expect great image quality.
  • Pros: Small, image stabilised lens, good depth of field when shooting in macro mode
  • Cons: Images were soft around the edges, noticeable chromatic aberration, struggled to expose properly in scenes with a lot of dynamic range, buttons hard to press

Canon Ixus 95 IS

Absolut Photo
28 December 2012
