Excerpt: This slim camera offers a small switch for easy switching between auto and manual modes. However for some odd reason image stabilization only works in auto mode. The battery burns out fast on this model, especially if you're shooting video. Those two issues are so far the only negatives I've found.
Excerpt: Just got the camera and have not had a real good opportunity to put it through its paces. Out of what I have done, I am very pleased with the low light capabilities. It is a very nice design, very compact and sleek. The 3" screen is very good and the controls are simple. My only issue thus far is the use of micro sd only, but I guess in order to get the body so small, some concessions had to be made. This was purchased as a travel/vacation camera, and I think it...
Summary: Slow response while taking pictures, but takes good quality videos. Touch screen is clunky (no iPhone quality here!), flash is too small and poorly placed where it gets covered by the fingers most of the time.
Summary: Disappointed as a replacement for my SD850. The pictures are not as sharp and the touch screen seems erratic. The auto mode is unpredictable so that I have to use the P mode to get decent pictures. The picture quality color and sharpness are the most annoying aspects of the camera.
Summary: I bought this model even though I knew there was a newer model available, simply because of the f/2.0 lens. To me, special effects and smaller sizes are not as important as the image itself and as a rule of thumb, a better lens always trumps other features. This is a nice everyday pocket camera. It's not a substitute for my DSLR, but I like keeping it handy in my car, so I can grab it when I see something.
Summary: Great camera! No technical review included. I have the original cannon elph. They've come a long way. The touch screen is really nice & so many effects to choose from. Battery life is incredible. Shot thousands of pix over 3 wks on a trip and was amazed at the quality of the shots. The more you use it, the more you like it.
Summary: I needed a camera quick, I was on one coast, and my wife was on another. I was house hunting so that we could relocate and the camera I had died. Not wanting to make a hasty decision I did some research and narrowed it down to this camera based on the reviews I saw. It is a small compact camera, it does have an automatic mode, and if you want to tweak it has a manual mode.
