Excerpt: I've been using this camera for almost 2 months. I bought it to replace my Elph 110HS from 3-4 years ago. That camera I wasn't a huge fan of; so I had quite high hopes for this one. PROS: - still photos are nice quality. - video is nice and crisp - muchhh better than my previous Elph - the wi-fi option is wonderful. I use social media a lot to upload photos so if I take something on my camera and want to upload the photo on Instagram, I can do it no problem.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast/accurate auto-focus, Good Image Quality, Nice Body Color, Short Lag Time
Summary: It is fast, one of the fastest point-and-shoots I've ever seen. But I had a really hard time getting it to focus correctly and the pictures were far from crisp. The screen was shockingly grainy (although this did not show up in the pictures, it was pretty annoying). My biggest complaint is that the auto flash was awful and the button only lets you toggle between auto and no flash -- you can't force the flash.
Summary: I am one of the "technologically disadvantaged". I bought this because of the reviews, the price, and the reputation of Canon. I am very happy with this camera. It is very user friendly. It comes with a WRITTEN manual! Thank you Canon! I am pleased with the pictures I have taken. This is an upgrade from the other digital camera I had which was not user friendly and not a Canon.

Summary: We wanted a classic camera to use on a recent Disney vacation as our phone batteries drain so quickly. This camera worked incredibly well! The pictures are sharp and true to color, it travels easily, and the battery has a decent amount of life (we did get an extra that we would switch out). I do recommend getting a large memory card. Overall very happy with it and plan on using it whenever a camera phone or a large DSLR isn't quite convenient.
Summary: Seriously? No connecting cord? How exactly are you supposed to put the pictures on your computer? The supposed Wi-Fi capability is a joke. I spent 2 hours last night trying to get the Wi-Fi to work. First, you have to register at one website. Then you have to register at another website. OK, so I registered at both websites. How do I get the damn Wi-Fi to work?? The "Wi-Fi" menu on the actual camera is zero help.
Summary: I have had several other Canon point and shoot cameras and purchased this camera for my wife. She enjoys having a camera that fits easily in her purse, is easy to uses, has a decent telephoto capacity, and takes decent pictures. The 340 meets all of these requirements. It is also lighter than some of their other small cameras. I do wish that Canon had an optical view finder but they have all disappeared except on a very inexpensive camera.
I am replacing a Fine Pix camera that is fairly bulky
2 March 2015
Summary: I am replacing a Fine Pix camera that is fairly bulky. This camera is easy to handle and will fit in your pocket. It may not be for someone who has large fingers as the buttons are fairly small. So far it has taken great pictures.
